feel settled

Although I don’t like the apartment I’m in and there’s a slim chance that I’ll be able to afford to rent anywhere else as the rent rates are increasing so much in Dubai, I am beginning to feel settled here. Even with all the cr@p that has been churned up in my work recently making it a not very enjoyable job to have (and almost thinking about applying for other jobs). I am getting to know people out here, although I don’t think I’ll ever say any of them are really good, close friends. I finally have my own car which gives me an amazing feeling of freedom in Dubai (even though I am in the shackles of a bank loan to pay for the car!!!). I guess you always have to take matters like this slowly.

When I arrived back in Perth I realized that if I didn’t have anything to keep me here my feet would soon start getting itchy again and I’d be heading for some new destination. So I went and bought a dog. The way quarantine is in Australia you can’t realy take your dog overseas with you if you go anywhere, so now I have a furry little anchor. My dog just turned four a few weeks ago.

I wouldn’t say I feel totaly settled, still planning a trip next year, but more as a holiday than somthing more permanent.

im back home and i wouldnt want to be anywhere else right now. im finally grounded.

as much as i like travelling, id love to be happy to stay in one place, to stop feeling so restless.
