buy a Yixing teapot

I think I was overreacting early in my fears about being tracked down through my teapot. So here is a picture of my new 7oz Yixing teapot.

I got my yixing pot today and used it for the first time and am very well pleased with what I have. If it wasn’t for the very unique nature of my pot I’d post a picture of it here but don’t feel comfortable for privacy reasons.

Once again I’m sure a lot of you are wondering what I’m talking about for this goal. Yixing teapots are made out of Chinese Yixing clay, which is believed to be the best material to make teapots for use in the Gongfu tea ceremony. The porous Yixing clay is always left unglazed in teapots, which means that each individual pot must be dedicated to brewing a single type of tea. At first glance to those who are not familiar with Gongfu tea, most Yixing teapots will come off as being surprisingly small, almost like a child’s play tea set, but that is because the tea leaves are brewed multiple times in very short infusions. For this goal I want to buy a Yixing pot that is 5 or 6 fluid ounces to use to Gongfu my Puerh tea.
