Getting closer  — 2 weeks ago

The upstairs is virtually empty. It was clean until I had the furniture guys pick up the armoire for repair—they’ll return it to the new house. It was dusty and dusty behind it, so I’ll need to vacuum up there once more.

R has made a lot of progress in recent weeks, including most of the remaining books—which are now scattered in piles in the living room of the new house waiting to be sorted. Oh well. At this point, it’s more important to get the old house emptied than to keep the new house looking the way I want. I’ll get back to that later.

Moving review  — 3 months ago

Made some progress—most importantly, my progress motivated R to get to work on his part of the project and he’s going great guns.

I learned that if I pack for an hour at the old house, I need to plan about three hours at the new house to sort things and figure out what to do with them.

Old house goals for the next six weeks  — 4 months ago
    • Fetch the table from the storage unit (there’s a long boring explanation about why that’s a first step, but it is) done
    • establish a Laundry Day habit, where instead of running in and out to complete laundry, I stay and work on making progress emptying the house
    • call the guy to get the armoire fixed—we’re hoping he’ll pick it up from the old house, return it to the new
