Auntie B BelofgIncome Tax

I submitted my income tax and made payment online, all by my little self, of course with God’s help! I did ask my sister-in-law who is an accountant one question.

My hands were really shaking, and a couple of times I kinda got lost in the system. My assessment shows that I didn’t make payment, so I phoned the income tax people and happily found out that they did indeed receive my payment.

I do not mess with the government!!!!!!!!!!

Auntie B BelofgMy tower ...

is 4 years old and I think it’s starting to feel its age. I still want to try to take it apart to clean. This is one of the most scary things for me to attempt.

I don’t want to wreck it, but I feel it no longer owes me anything. It would be a huge confidence builder for me, so I think I will try on the weekend.

Auntie B BelofgWell ...

It’s hard to explain and will read as if it’s the most trivial, mindless thing, but I did almost all of the interloan tasks at work yesterday. I was slow but careful. I even organized the returns and cut out the return slips. This is not my usual job, but my hands were shaking as I did it.

Interloan is really a nice task, but it can be scary because the loaned items are from another library in my province. There’s a tremendous amount of problem solving which I haven’t really started to do yet. It’s still mostly procedural.

Auntie B BelofgSkype

I bought a webcam, and I’m going to try to set up Skype on my own. I want to communicate with my brother and my sis-in-law, and Daisy Mae the Wonder Dog, in southwestern Ontario Canada. I hardly ever get to see them.

I’ll keep you posted.

Auntie B BelofgRide home

My boss offered me a ride home, because I was just barking like a seal with this awful head cold, that we both caught. I accepted, wasn’t that scary after all. Tomorrow, I’ll try again to put in a full day. Lots of bits and pieces of cataloguing left on my desk. She’s a really nice person. 5 months ago

Auntie B BelofgMore about release notes

I perused my release notes in bed last night as a treatment for insomnia.

It worked.

Auntie B BelofgNext Sunday in Church ...

I’m going to try to remember to sit in a different place in the church, maybe over across the aisle. I’m very shy, so this can challenging (or I can let it be easy!!!!)

Auntie B BelofgScared but assertive!

Had my performance evaluation today at work. When I received the paperwork I was so upset with what was written. I knew it wasn’t true at all, I pointed the areas that were untrue to my boss, she agreed, and edited it out! Talk about having a reasonable person as boss! She didn’t change everything, and that’s OK, everyone needs to improve somewhere! 8 months ago

Auntie B BelofgBoss lady

I’ve started being more open with my boss at work. She’s a nice lady. I’m honest with her now if I’m struggling up to a point of course. I find sometimes that she takes things away from me. 8 months ago

Auntie B BelofgUpdate

I am almost completely grey, a few coloured tips left and some of my natural dark brown in the back. My hairdresser says that we go grey in the front first and the back last.

I told my friend that I would stop sharing the rent on the office and gave her 4 months notice. We’re still friends.

I also send emails to our tech department when I have any problems whatsoever, I was nervous because I don’t always know how to describe some of the problems as they crop up. I send screenshots and they like that.

I’m able to respond more confidently without snarkiness to nasty comments sent my way.

Auntie B BelofgPainfully scary

I have to let a friend know that I can no longer share the rent on the office space with her. I want to go back to school and I just can’t afford both, I’ll giver her several months notice, so she can find someone else or figure out a way to afford it without help. It was a pleasure to use this cute little office and the quiet helped me cope with a variety of stress, family illnesses, and death.

This is very painful. I have no doubt that she’ll understand. We’ve been friends for years. 11 months ago

Auntie B BelofgBoundaries

I had a situation where a person, who I really like, was unhappy with different individuals and life in general and started taking potshots at me. I didn’t get upset and lash out, as is my custom, I just listened and turned away to continue working. I was quaking in my boots though. I no longer can be an audience to this destructive behaviour. 13 months ago

Auntie B BelofgFinally

I quieted one of the people I have to deal with almost daily. This person started to whinge about the weather and I said “Oh well” back. This was scary.

This person always has a nasty little comment about someone, and I’ve decided that I don’t want to give my time, mental space, or energy anymore.

I won’t be mean back, though, because I’ve got to live with my conscience. 13 months ago

Auntie B BelofgVery scary

Unfortunately, I hit a wrong link in our ILS program, which left some titles without accompanying bibliographic records. I had to tell my boss. This may be the time I get fired. I hope not. 13 months ago

Auntie B BelofgOn a roll

The other scary thing that I do is “experiment” with our software at work to see what it can and can’t do. Little by little my confidence is growing.

I also gave to a local charity and I’ll do it again soon. 14 months ago

Auntie B BelofgRoots

They’re over 3 inches long now, two maybe three more cuts and I’ll be completely grey.

I’ve started really speaking up at work, always kindly and respectfully.

A woman called my mother out of the blue claiming to be a relative, I contacted her, and gave her a bit of family info, but you know she wanted more personal stuff such as birth dates etc. to make a chart to give out to all the cousins. Her cousins. I’ve never met the woman, etc. etc.

Whew, I didn’t give her anything but info available freely on the web and I told her that I wasn’t comfortable anymore with her genealogical search. At most these people are fourth cousins. At first I thought great more relatives, but my instincts kicked in. Somethin’s not right or maybe it is. I just don’t know.

I got honest with myself, I’m not interested in pursuing this, simply because I can’t be bothered. I’d rather do other things with the time that her project would take up.

Normally, I’d be afraid to admit this to myself. Not this time. I am getting braver! 14 months ago

Auntie B BelofgGrey

My roots are now 2-3” long now, and I had my hair cut short. My hairdresser was able to blend it all together. It still looks quite dark even though I’m 50/50 grey 14 months ago

Auntie B BelofgBoss

I’ve been speaking up more and being a bit more assertive, but always respectful to my boss. 14 months ago

Auntie B BelofgSome scary stuff

clean my computer tower’s innards – too scared yet. But I won’t give up.

buy a book online – actually I’ve already bought books online – in fact i bought an entire 2 year college level diploma course online, along with text books, etc. I’ve never bought from Amazon.ca though. **I bought a CD online at Amazon.ca. I would next like to buy an art book or two from Better World Books.

give to the online charity that I’m researching – I’ve decided to keep my giving to local charities

get a will done

start a blog about personal change or something like that

learn to knit – the last time I tried to knit -well let’s just say my project was unrecognizeable.

go and explore a new town in North Ontario. Nah too cold right now. I wouldn’t mind going to Nipigon next year.

venture out with some new art ideas such as sell my drawings – buy a portfolio to display them at the gallery.

stop colouring my hair and just go grey. I will start this in January. I’ll use a “rinse” and keep my hair shorn. It should take a year or less to go completely grey. A lady at work has the coolest looking short hair, it’s grey except for a “shingle” at the back which is almost pure black (it’s natural) Personally, it’s an attempt to uncover the real true me. (I can always start colouring my hair again if it’s awful looking)

My grey roots are over 1” long now, so I’m on my way!!!!

wear a skirt or a dress with nice shoes – I always wear pants – I want to look like a girl! I did try on a skirt during the summer and of course it was way too tight.

completely change the direction of the art I’m doing now

do another canvas – have started building the canvas – will do several at a time I think. That way when I get an idea or need a neat gift for someone I can just choose one. Also it’ll help get rid of the huge bolt of canvas in my closet that’s crushing my clothes.

go to aquafit classes – I’ll see if I can wear a t-shirt over my bathing suited body

join one of the many clubs in my town 22 months ago
