So, my BFF moved in across the street. We’ve started walking in the mornings. We ran into an old college friend this morning who recently moved to the neighborhood. Yay for neighbors!

the northern view from my deck, seconds before the rainstorm. I love living in the city. I walk to the grocery, the drug store, the bar, the liquor store, and more walking to come. But anyways, I was happily surfing and enjoying the nice weather out on the deck, when a sudden rainstorm drove me inside. There’ll be time enough in full-on spring.
I’m so glad we escaped Suburbia!
I can check off this goal. We’re going today to sign a lease on the apartment we love. We’re buying out our lease here and moving back to the city. I’m going to fix up an old bike Taylor’s parents offered us and wheel around on city adventures, now that the weather’s changing to less cold. Wow, very exciting. I just hope nothing falls through!
the great escape.
We found an apartment we love. In Charles Village, literally one block away from my old apartment, but on a better street. It’s second and third floor of a row house. 2 full bathrooms, decent kitchen, washer and dryer in apt, and BEST PART, 2 decks, one off kitchen, the other off the bedroom, the latter of which is HUGE and half-covered, and you can see all the way downtown to the harbor. The landlady seems very nice! However, she wants to rent it ASAP and our lease isn’t up until June 1, so we’re going to try to cut a deal and get out April or May. I hope we can move there. It would be hilarious, because it’s the first apartment we’ve looked at, as was the one we currently live in. We’re big on first choices, Taylor and I.
It’s so cute and has so much character, and I can sit outside!!!!!!! Here’s hoping.
to try to get a country cottage, so we’re heading back to the city. We started looking this week, even though our lease won’t be up until May, just so we know what’s out there and what’s fair. The best thing of all is we would have a June 1 move-in target, which means there will be tons of apts. available at that time, as the colleges will have let out for the year.
We’re ultimately going to get what we can afford.
Our demands are:
-decent neighborhood (it is baltimore, so never 100% safe, but we can try)
-cat friendly.
-parking pad or reasonable lot/garage very nearby.
-close-ish to I-83
What would be nice:
-a patio, porch, or roof deck. Some outdoor space. It’s not a dealbreaker, but close.
-a washer/dryer in unit
-charm and sunlight
I like our current place. But it’s time.
has its perks, but we’re planning to move to the country in the spring. like motherfucking homesteaders staking a claim.
