How I did it: I was lucky to be born on Kaien Island in the Pacific Northwest of Canada. I've lived here all mmy life and plan to always live by the ocean. It's the fresh air, the smmell of the ocean breeze, the ships, the marine life, the fog rolling in, and though it rains lots, we do have the mmost ammazing sunsets!!! Read how I did it…

How I did it: Well, when I was about twelve, my family moved to Delaware, in a town called Lewes, which is right on the Atlantic Ocean. I was the only one in my family who didn't want to leave our town in Pennsylvania. However, as I grew older, I also grew more attached to the ocean. Now that I was forced to move away, I'm realizing how lucky I was to be there in the first place. Read how I did it…

How I did it: Lucky enough to find a company that had a corporate headquarters in Southern CA. worked a deal that brought me from the east coast to the west coast. In that move, I made it a priority to find a rental unit near the water - worked hard with a real estate agent who did the leg work on narrowing down choices near the water. Ended up with a beautiful view of the Pacific ocean - I lived there for 18 mos, (near Laguna B… Read how I did it…

How I did it: My husband and I lost work due to economy so we moved from Ct. to S E Florida in hopes of a better life. We got here and it was better than we even thought. We got a home about six miles inland and then after two years got a home right on the beach. I still think I am dreaming and it is my hearts desire that I have always had... Just do it if this is what you want. It isn't as hard at all as I thought it would be. I thought it was almost … Read how I did it…

How I did it: When relocating for DH's job, we chose a beautiful patch of coast in Australia. We were lucky enough to find a home with sand in our front yard with unobstructed access to the sea! Surfing every morning, long walks on the beach, watching violent storms, it was a magical 2 years in our lives. Read how I did it…

I’ve been to beaches many times in my life always had a good time. Yet after last weekend with just my friends and as an adult rather than a kid or teenager, it hurt to leave.
The beach area, in Delaware if you have to know is uber-touristy but to be near the water, breath the salty air, it is hard to describe just how wonderful the whole experience can be.
I’d be happy enough to live by an ocean for a month or two, close as in within biking distance, that would be wonderful.

who I’ve known since I was four years old, lives by the ocean. She lives five minutes from the beach and can see the ocean from her bedroom window. I am incredibly jealous.
One day I will do this.

I Live by a bay , so its close enough xD hehe .
I want to live by the ocean someday! Someplace warm, with palm trees, and beauty all around. But, not someplace like Southern California because I don’t like the materialism and image-driven culture there. I would like to live in a beautiful place where people think for themselves and enjoy art, culture, and fun! Ideally, I think I’d like to live in France on the Mediterrainian Sea…

I wake up happy every morning because it smells like sand and sea. The temperature is beautiful. My apartment is bright and cheery. I stand on my patio and can watch the sailboats cruise by. Living by the ocean is so relaxing and serene that it’s almost made me into a new person. This is one of the most important things on my list and I’m so lucky to have already done it.
lajollakat needs to do homework!
My goal is to have ten thousand dollars to get a small apartment or studio by the ocean by next summer….....to at least have a start on one years rent.
Its doable! and Im gonna prove it!
