I know some people who found out how to do this. They wrote an essay about it and got accepted. They’re now learning to fly planes at the local airport/Air Force base.
I’m a junior in HS now. I probably don’t have the time to do this next year. But it’s been one of those dreams in the back of my mind for a while. Something that I say I’ll try when I get rich and everything.
I think I’ll look into it though….
even though i hate heights, being in a plane some how takes all my fear of falling away. ive been on an airplane a couple of times, and i started to see how pretty everything was, and how i wasn’t scared. i would to know where you can take classes to became a pilot, and what the requirements are. do you need to be a certain age? (i’m not 18 yet)
I have 37 hours behind me and I got my first solo cross-country trip out of the way, then I went to college and stopped. Someday I’ll earn my private pilot’s certificate though…
Kerry and I were on our way out to Skwentna in a little Cessna. We’re all on the headphones, and the pilot can’t tell who’s talking. I’m sitting in the back, and Kerry is sitting in the co-pilot seat. I say, “Someday I really want to learn how to fly. I love flying.” The pilot says, “Okay, start now!” and he takes his hands off the controls. Kerry grabs them, and proceeds to fly us all the way to Skwentna! It was a little rough at first, until she got the feel of it, but she did it!
Next time, I’m sitting up front!
Yeah, think about driving your car to work every morning . . . now imagine that your car slowly and gently lifts off of the ground and into the clouds . . . I want to fly.
