take a big trip in 2008

Visited a Caribbean island with my father. Very last-minute but a rare and exceptional opportunity. Such fine white sand, the ocean was such a strong, bright blue.

A very last-minute opportunity seems to have appeared to go somewhere warm at a bargain basement rate that would be too good to pass up. This would qualify as a big trip.

Will be travelling west to the Pacific time zone of North America this year. Believe it or not, I’m dreaming of travelling by human power. Epic! That’s right sports fans! I’m “dreaming in technicolour.”

That would entail a lot of time and sacrifice and limitations. But the belief is there that such a trip is possible. Having met three people who have done it over the past 2 years helps build belief. I’ll indulge the fantasy for a brief time…

Also want to go “south” which could mean anywhere in the Americas…

A lot of air or auto travel doesn’t exactly jive with my other 43T items such as “live simply” and “reduce my ecological footprint.” So there is a little internal conflict.
