This is linked to other goals (e.g. cpd portfolio and getting to bed at regular time) and these seem to be helping—have been writing reflective ‘diary/journal’ regularly since January – often in bed before reading & lights out. Also just started on relfective logs – see cpd goal -and this is really powerful …

Another piece of personal writing – finally got round to writing the story of our cats sleeping in our Xmas tree and sent it to Your Cat magazine on spec for their true cat tales section. Would be great if it got published but I’m not too bothered – it’s just good to be writing non-work stuff.
Following last entry, decided I would like to keep track of how I am doing against each of my 8 mission goals. Originally was going to add them to my 43things list, but have found a gorgeous notebook that I never used up til now – going to make that my personal scrapbook journal of little steps along the way towards each of my mission goals. This will encourage me to ‘write’ for personal reasons.
Ha! Just written an entry for another goal and realised that it was about WRITING something personal !!!How weird is that !?
Yep, I have been working on FC workbook and drafting my personal mission statment. Tonight I got some time on the pc so I shaped it up, altered words to make it more thematic and focused, and based it around 4 FC themes – which also happened to be alliterative which pleased me no end :) Felt really rpoud of final result – write it out into my planner for referecne and stuck a copy in my wardrobe as a reminder/inspiration.
Maybe I just need to rethink my definition of ‘writing’ ...
I have recently written a short piece about another project I have been involved in that will hopefully be going into the county’s free paper. Really enjoyed writing it – gets the creative juices going ! Should really try to do some non-work related writing – is it time (ie if it’s work I can make the time) or is it fear of writing something more personal? Might need to make a more speific goal on this to focus the mind and prompt me to be more proactive …
Recently I was asked to write an article for an in-house magazine about an educational trip I had been involved with. I jumped at the chance, as I used to be a journalist and love that kind of writing. I finally got round to doing it yesterday and really enjoyed the whole process – planning it out, putting it together, capturing the day . I should do more – but what? and when?
