thanks to the Kind Gentleman I am currently dating! My latest problem (for several months) was that my computer could not be convinced that it had a battery. No matter what evidence was presented, no matter how much I whined and pleaded, it refused to acknowledge the existence of a battery. SO…I could not use the dang thing without it being plugged in.
Then, yesterday, I knocked the plug out. During a thunderstorm. So I am not sure what did it…but my computer completely died. A sudden and hopefully painless death.
So said Kind Gentleman used all of his tech know-how, along with the tech know-how of IT at his work AND the staff at a computer store, to revive it WITHOUT (and here’s the important part) losing any of my files or data. And it will be even better than ever—newest operating system, functioning battery, and, hopefully, repaired mouse-button-thingy.
Veddy, veddy cool…

My home computer won’t even turn on now and hasn’t for a few weeks. I’ve taken it to my computer guy at work and there has been no progress on it :o(
Viruses SUCK!!! and I totally recommend people to not get them LOL!

Maybe I should start hanging around Best Buy and start picking up boys there… for a date or two, yeah, yeah, that’s the ticket… we’ll have a date… at my house… right, yeah, I’ll serve them soda and talk about the movie we’ll watch, right after they fix my computer…
I’ll see if I can put that plan in motion…

The “mousekey” (what the hell do you call that big button below your sensorpad on a laptop?) is sticking like crazy. I have to press it in exactly the right spot to get it to work, and then it stays stuck so if, for example, I want to click on the Back button, it will take me back two pages instead of one. And also it will make the cursor jump all over the screen. I have been avoiding taking it in because it’s a Mac so I imagine it will be expensive to repair. But it is starting to make my hair stand on end!

All of a sudden I had a blitz of adware and popups creap into my machine… so on Christmas nite I downloaded McAfee (although I already have it through my email, along with AdAware and Systemic and Norton Antivirus)...
Anyway – said computer has not gotten fixed, but actually a bit worse. McAfee doesn’t know why it’s stuff doesn’t work, Comcast can’t figure it out, my tech guy at work is on vacation until 1/7 and I’m a flipping girl who is lucky I know where the control/alt/delete buttons are.
Been working on fixing this for 3 entire days now and I’m about to hurt someone (including the guy named McAfee at this point).
