Ninja T. going to graduate school yeay
How I did it: This was one of my most highly prioritized goal for the past 5 years. Nothing and no one could stand between and my education. I always knew that if I put the work into it during undergraduate studies, I could pursue an continuing education. I went from Cosmetology School, into a Community College, transferred to a University and graduated Magna Cum Laude. Keeping focused on the long term goal and breaking it up into lit… Read how I did it…

How I did it: My undergraduate experience in college was not what I would have liked it to be. Because my degree was general music and not music performance, I felt like a lot of the faculty at the school I go to (the University of Texas at Austin) felt that I had less talent than others. Somewhere around my sophomore year, after a year or so of uncertainty, I decided that I really did want to pursue the cello for my career.I practiced so much and put … Read how I did it…
How I did it: I applied to grad school. There's nothing more to it -- maybe drop a few hundred dollars, though. Oh, and talk to old professors and employers for recommendation letters. Read how I did it…

How I did it: it's difficult to say how long this goal took to achieve. i went through a long time of wanting to apply, but being too timid to put myself out there. once i got to it, the applications took about a month to get how i wanted them, and organizing letters of recommendation, transcripts and the like took a similar amount of time. I’ve sent for my reference requests. Now, it’s on to personal statements. I also need to request transcripts from 2 more universities I attended during undergrad.

so far, no word. But, today I’m taking the GRE, and Lord willing, I’ll do well and that will up my chances of getting into a college!!

Despite my aunt insisting that I should stay in college as long as possible and go away and make something of myself….I’d really (At the moment) rather take online classes at Drexel (or Pitt) and be able to work full time, cutting down on money issues (I hope!!) and look for a real job in the area! Yes, all this can wait and I could just go away to college…but hey, at least I’ll have a job still, Lord willing, and maybe I can be in an apartment with my beloved one :)

I recieved my official letter of admissions for a masters program in Dispute Resolution this past week.
Not bad considering I took the GRE earlier this month and applied on a whim – so wrth it though and I’m glad I have a concrete idea of what next year is going to look like once I graduate college!

I read through every list of programs on the Grad Schools website. Then I determined that I currently have no interest in anything other than the following. The bold programs are what I’m really fascinated with.
~ Professional Writing
~ Communication: Journalism and Mass Media
~ Geography
~ Outdoor Education
~ International Education
~ TESOL Education
~ Teaching English/Foreign Language
~ *Asian Studies, Asian Literature and Languages*
~ Children’s Literature
~ History
~ International Studies
~ International Relations/Law/Affairs
~ Translation and Interpretation
So that’s helpful to at least know what I’m looking to study.

This is not good. I’m going to have to study my butt off and re-take the test this summer. I’m just really mad that I’m going to have to re-do the writing sections. They took forever!

take GRE
UA: apply directly to PhD program
UCB: apply directly to PhD program
UNM: apply for MA program
I’m not sure I want to apply anywhere else. I would really like to go to one of the first two. :(
I am sad, because I am stressed out.
