So sorry my entry is late. Rest assured that we drank to your health in great style by the sea and that our bonnets kept our ears warm.
Wishing you a wonderful year in Pemberley! Zxxx

I am sorry I am late. I hope you had a lovely birthday and happy new year as well.
I hope my Paddington Bear hat will do in lieu of a bonnet!

Silvie and I have crossed paths now and then over the last year, often on birthday goals for other 43ers, so I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to give her some birthday wishes as well. So here are my wishes for her for the coming year:
May her fingers become more dexterious and her ear become more tuned, so that she is able to improve her piano playing and master the violin because music is beauty. May she find the motivation to do first things first while also keeping to her practice schedule, for practice does bring you closer to perfect. And may she and her husband experience some wonderful journeys (possibly to Iceland or Venice) as they spend quality time together.

It’s so fascinating to google “bonnet”: what an array of baby bonnets, Easter bonnets, car bonnets, & Bonnet surnames. This “boatwoman’s bonnet” caught my fancy for its complexity; if you took it apart perhaps it would serve as a nightie!
I hope your birthday was pompous (only in a good way, of course), circumstantial (likewise), & bristling with lovely bonnets! And may your new year be rich with good health, thriving friendships, students who absorb your teaching like sponges, & a warm, beautiful home where you can spend ample quality time with your husband.
.... I couldn’t resist!!!
Had to give you this cute little piggy in a bonnet too!!!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAYagain!!
... thankyou for being a wonderful friend here on 43t.
Silvie, I hope your birthday brings you wonderful music, love and happiness.
May this year be awesome for you. This site is a nicer place for having you here…..
Love ~ Nonna
enjoy the cake I baked for you!!
In your honour – and with my deepest respects – I would have enjoyed spending the day at work in the above-illustrated 1860s Iroquois beadwork tourist souvenir version of a Glengarry bonnet.
At the other extreme, I tried to find a fiddle arrangement of one of Peter Warlock’s “Cod Pieces” but it seems to be available only for the organ. Perhaps you might apply yourself to it on the grand piano?
A very merry new birthday to you, dear Silvie.
