a poem to memorise 3 years ago

I KNOW that there are more people who want to Memorize a poem (i.e. with the American Spelling)..

but given that I am an Australian, and the poem I want to memorise is Australian, it is fitting to use the Australian spelling!

I want to memorise “A Bush Christening” by Banjo Patterson.
One of the things I remember from childhood is that my father and grandfather were both able to recite it. I once attempted to learn it, but to this day I can only do the first 2 verses…

ON the outer Barcoo where the churches are few,
And men of religion are scanty,
On a road never cross’d ’cept by folk that are lost,
One Michael Magee had a shanty.
Now this Mike was the dad of a ten year old lad,
Plump, healthy, and stoutly conditioned;
He was strong as the best, but poor Mike had no rest
For the youngster had never been christened.

The rest can be found here

So I plan try to memorise it again.
