MUCH sooner than his sentence had mandated—this Saturday! And they don’t seem to be requiring him to go through rehab.
I’m really sad. My sister-in-law is going to file for an order of protection, much needed.
He has failed, terribly, & the system seems to be failing him. For now I will be praying but not writing letters. I may pick up this goal again later, if we learn of an address for him.

RuthG raises a toast for a fruitful 2010!
in jail, currently for 104 days for DUI-related issues as I understand it, & on January 10 he goes on trial for other charges. I don’t know any details, but I’m very sad that he got himself into this predicament & missed his first grandchild’s first Christmas. :-(
At least during the time he’s in jail, & maybe beyond that if it seems helpful, I’d like to write to him frequently. These will be snail mail letters, for a change. Today I wrote him a short letter & enclosed a copy of the poem cycle I wrote as my family Christmas gift.
