Get a job or get my associate's degree in 2008

I’m going back to work. (Ok, I’m having the fake the enthusiasm, really, but I’ll get there. ) It is great to think I’ll get a paycheck in a week or two (not sure where they are in their cycle.) So, I’ve accomplished this goal! It is GREAT to check it off.

The company that I really was hoping would hire me – they haven’t decided yet. It is a relief to find out that there is still a chance. I was a bit discouraged when they didn’t call me at all on Friday!

No word on the job that I really had hoped that I had gotten. On the other hand, I have an interview with another company scheduled for Monday at 10 am.

For a position that sounds like it would be a good fit for me. It also sounds like a job I might actually like, with flex time that would be great for me, especially as I deal with my son’s issues and my daughter’s issues. I hope that it works out. The down side is that it is a bit of a drive, but I think it is manageable. Here’s hoping.

I’m going to a job fair at a grocery store tomorrow, as well as to another grocery store up the road. At least, if I get a job at one of them, I’ll be able to pay SOME bills.

This one sounded good as well, though not as good as the last. We shall see – I hope one of them turns something up for me.

With an agency. It sounded promising and I told them I’d like to start working around May 26. We’ll see how it goes. Of course, I’m continuing to put out resumes.

I’m going back to work, not back to school.

So, I need to polish my resume (again), clean it up, and work on “selling myself”. I really, really don’t like this process. Oh well. I can do this if I work at it.

Well, I heard nothing this week from either of the two companies that I interviewed with last week. I suppose they could just be taking longer than they anticipated but I don’t think I got either job. Sigh. Well, something else will come along – I’m not going to let this get me down.

I had a second interview this week. I think both went well, but you know, I hate to sound too confident – that seems to be the kiss of death for me. Anyway, both jobs sound interesting, both sound like they could be a source of stress (what job wouldn’t?), both have pluses and minuses. We’ll see what happens; the job I interviewed for today should be settled by early next week.
