I will have to save the money for it first. I guess I could find out how much they cost so that I will know when I have saved enough.

How I did it: Bought my new Acer laptop today. Very pleased with it up to now, managed to get a heavily discount laptop bag/starter kit thrown in as part of the deal, this laptop isn't just going to allow me to watch TV or YouTube in bed, but also help with my career and business projects, if you are sitting on the cash like I was, put it to good use and go out and get that laptop!!!Laptop bought: Friday 9th October 2009Place: PC World Manchester, UK Read how I did it…
How I did it: Walked into the Apple Store on a Tuesday after work, LIKE A BOSS. ;)I was debating between the Mac Book and the Mac Book Pro, so I chatted w the staff and made my decision to go all out with the titanium mac book pro. Also got a free iPod Touch with my student ID and the Apple Care warranty thing.Went home, plugged it in, and started computing! Read how I did it…
How I did it: My mother paid for it, and now I am paying her as though she were a credit card company. I would have bought the machine on credit, but alas, I was turned down for it. Read how I did it…
How I did it: Well, my old laptop is almost 4 now, which is stone-pld for a laptop ;) anyway, i wanted a faster one with more gb and ram and whatever for university and also privately. So, i got a Sony Vaio VGN.CS11S in white this weekend.it'S not only beautiful, the technical dates are AWESOME and i know i'll have this one for the next 4 years and be very happy :) Read how I did it…

But until goal #1 (get a job) is accomplished, this one will be put on hold.

my dh picked me up from work today and took me out to pick up a new laptop on the way home
a complete surprise!!
we had been talking about my needing a new one, but money had been tight and other thing are needed more. He told me that this was something that I not only needed for work, but would help take some stress off me and make me smile… and he likes to see me smile
of course … I think he knew he would get something special in return when we got home ;)
anyway… I got an HP Pavilion Notebook
it’s a much nicer laptop then what I was looking at originally and the total price after the sale, coupon, and instate rebate was under $500!! Im very happy :)
I use this laptop for 6 years. I think it’s time to get a new one because it’s so slow. My friends keeping telling me that if it’s broken, don’t fix it, get a new one may cost less money.
I really want a new one, but i know that to buy a brand new laptop needs more than 12,000 baht. I don’t have that much money. I don’t want my parents to buy it for me because they’ve got so much expense.
My plan is to have my parents pay half of money if i can get into a university. I’ll pay another half.
Well almost three years ago my boyfriend spilled milk on mine during a pillow fight… and I’m getting my income tax in a few days.So I think it’s time to get one. So I won’t use my brother’s computer anymore and it will be just mine and since I’m having a hard time dealing with not seeing Scott as much since we had to no longer live together it will be easier to deal if I can talk to him via internet more often. and get my w.o.w. account back on and we can play together in spare time. plus when we do finally get a place again. I will have one ready for the bills and starting school again because my desktop is just getting old and it’s a nice simple computer for surfing the web or storeing some pics but not much else. lol. So hopefully here in the next few days new laptop for me =-]

this needs to happen soon…
now that my old one is no longer working, I can’t get online when I’m on the road…
I don’t like these long break from 43T
I have now new laptop :) Acer TravelMate 5530G :) I will miss my Ferrari, but I think this will be nice. I hope I won’t have problems with it…time will show.
Gateway C143XL (14” WXGA, Centrino, dedicated GPU) or Fujitsu T5010 (13” WXGA LED backlit, Centrino 2). I had a long discussion about it here: http://forum.tabletpcreview.com/showthread.php?t=21865
But I can’t afford it right now. I’m trying to survive. But I know that clients like it when you show up to meetings with a laptop, ready to show them what you’ve been doing.
I know I want a tablet so I can replace my workstation and draw directly into my computer from wherever I may be. But I’m not a cartoonist (for a living) anymore. So, if six months from now I still lack the cash to buy my dream machine, I want to buy something that works and works well. I’ll hit Lex up for the specs to make sure it plays nice with Second Life, but a plain laptop will cost a lot less than the tablet option.

my old lap top is barely hanging on .. and I mean that literally.
the hinges are broken that connect the screen to the keyboard and the wires and now starting to shear … anytime now I expect it to go out and never come back on or to just not turn on next time I push the power button
I have my eye on two new ones the Acer one or the Asus Eee 1000 the Asus being my favored choice since it has a hard drive rather then a flash drive but both would fit my purpose, and both are right around $400.
I wont be able to get either for another month or so, so if my present laptop doesn’t hold out I may be off the net and off 43T for a while
so if I just disappear … you’ll know what happened
Chris is now 'ChrisElison' on 43things
Ok, so the laptop I currently have is a Compaq Armada 1592DT Intel Pentium 233 MMX with 64MB RAM and 3(?)GB hard disk, I run SuSE Linux on it, but it is just too slow, I need a new laptop, soemthing I can use while in bed or on the loo, coding away or writing my memoirs or just checking up on 43things!
