I discovered I actually hate going to the movies!
Anything Michael Cera touches turns to gold in my opinion. This movie was great before I even saw it. (Still great after I saw it.) Loved how up front the makers were about the indie-ness: good music, meh celebs, scene outfits…the whole shebang. Luckily it came together perfectly and touched all of our indie-lovin’-hearts. Don’t leave early, escalator scenes at the end of movies make my cinematic dreams come true.
Saw a lot of movies this summer actually. But this one obviously stood out. Sure a lot of you out there are huge Batman fans, and I really can’t claim to be. However, this movie was for sure fantastic. Any movie that I don’t get bored during is one I consider pretty decent. Heath was good, can’t deny it. Wondering about the Oscar status, but you can’t really avoid his brilliance in the role. Over all an A+. Sometimes hate to admit it with those blockbusters, but gotta love a man in a cape.
Saw the new Kutcher-Diaz flick. A mild romantic-comedy. It was just what I needed: a cheesy, predictable, stupid humor film with a pleasant outcome. I laughed. If you see it, just know exactly what you’re in for: exactly what you expect. The movie was only worth it for the two clips that come during the credits…so stay in your seats post-film!
I love going to the movies. The entire atmosphere. The smell of popcorn and “that thing they call butter”. The walls of movie posters. The people.
I’m one of those people that likes to get to the show early. I like to settle in well before the previews start, enjoying the entire ambience. As far as the pre-game show goes, I enjoy both the meditative calm of the slide show ads as well as the barrage of commercials and “behind-the-scenes” programs. It’s all part of the immersion into the celluloid world.
Then there’s the previews. I love watching the previews and noting the audience’s reaction. Checking off each clip with a “skip it” or “can’t wait for that.”
By the time the movie starts, I’m totally submerged in my sea of cinema, ready to lose myself in the story, the visuals, the sounds…
Now if I can just find a discreet way to bludgeon the talking couple sitting beside me.
This weekend saw Little Miss Sunshine. Loved it!! You have to see this.
Took my 3 year old to see Cars. Was only okay, she even fell asleep during it.
Did I post about Miami Vice??? Don’t waist your money. Very disappointing.
Lady in the Water was great!
Miami Vice, not so great.
Took my teenage daughters to this over the weekend. Thank goodness we went to the cheap seats. Save your money!! I wouldn’t even rent this. ;o)
Saw this the day it opened here and I enjoyed it. I was surprised the theaters were not sold out!
