Take a whole summer off, like a kid from school

This seems unlikely with my new job. But I’m thinking up a modification. Maybe at least one day a week, between now and Labor Day, I will spend all afternoon at either a double feature movie or in a body of water. Even if the body of water is my own tub!

Last weekend, I had to work but I took the bambina and husband with me and we spent Sunday morning in the giant jacuzzi in my otherwise truly gnarly hotel room.

This weekend, I’ve booked a babysitter so my husband and I can go to the movies. My planned double feature: the Dark Knight and Hancock.

And I’m gonna do it dammit!

I’m self employed and in an ideal world, I’d take every July and August off. I wanted to do it this year, but I was really sick and while I was technically not working, I wasn’t playing much either. So my goal this year is to take July or August off and build up to the whole summer. Maybe, baby.
