soopersooz is dreaming.
I am planning a trip out to Memphis after the first of the year. I think I will make this treck on my own. I want to be able to savor the experience.
How I did it: Me and my family went to Jackson, TN and the next morning my aunt woke me up before every one and else. We jumped in the truck and she started driving. She didnt tell me where we were going but We ended up in Memphis. and then i knew. We spend the whole day at Graceland. I'll never forget it!

Girl About Town is heading for the weekend!
I have been an Elvis fan since about 1973 – and that’s going back quite a bit! I have yet to visit Graceland though – it is my dream of dreams to walk through the home Elvis bought in 1957, and place flowers at his final resting place. It’s not a ‘pop culture’ thing for me, and I in no way think of Graceland as ‘tacky’ (it was redecorated in the 70’s and didn’t everyone decorate that way then?? Hello!!!). To me, Graceland is the spirit of Elvis, his home, and a connection to the man who was the King of Rock & Roll.
I visited Graceland during Elvis week and it was crazy. So many people were there and it was cool to see that we were all there to commemorate this great man. I defiantly recommend anyone to visit.
The King is calling me. And besides, it would be one hell of a good time with my girlfriends.
lowrain is changing up her life a bit
I just got back from Memphis – we went just to go to Graceland. I wasn’t an Elvis fan before I went. I just liked him and thought it was a great American experience. Now, I’m a total Elvis fan! He really was a beautiful man with an amazing voice. Anyway, my girlfriends and I had a fabulous time.
My son and I made the pilgrimage last fall. We did many of the key Memphis things during a fun weekend in September… Graceland, Beale St, Gibson Guitar Factory, Rock n Roll Museum, and Sun Studios. We enjoyed the grilled peanut butter and banana sandwiches at the Graceland diner so much we stopped back by for one before going to airport. I think every rock and music fan should do this trip at least once. If get you to Memphis try to get up to BB Kings on Beale and checkout blues guitarist Corey Osborne. We are not big fans!
