go on at least one date per month

I went out with Cody, a friend of mine whom I have twice “passed up” for other boys over the course of our ten year friendship. We went for brunch at Blue Ridge Brewing Company.

I enjoyed myself. Cody and I have good conversations. I used to be attracted to him but am not any longer. I would like to go out with him again, though. He’s a great date.

I went out with Christopher again two days after our first date. We went for drinks at the Gypsy and watched a terrible metal band.

The date went well; the loud music allowed for a lot of close talking. He touches me a lot when he talks to me, and it makes me feel special. I would like to go out with him again He came up to my apartment for a few minutes after the date but did not try to kiss me. He said he would call me soon. I hope he does.

I went out with Christopher, a hairdresser and waiter from Travelers Rest, SC. We went for drinks at The Barn and Karaoke Korral.

The date went well; I was attracted to him, found him engaging, and he made me laugh. We immediately made plans for a few days later, so we’ll see how that goes!

I went out with Matt, 26, my ex-boyfriend. We went to Irashai Japanese Restaurant and then had drinks at the Irish Pub. (WOW, I seem like such a lush from this goal because I go there all the time- – and with different men to boot!)

This was the last time we saw each other before I realized that I don’t think I want to see him anymore. We had contact for the entire month of April and a little in May.

I went out with Dave, 27, a gold purchaser from Atlanta, GA. He took me to Smoke on the Water and we went for drinks at the Irish Pub.

The date was fine, and he was OK to flirt with, but he made several subtle statements that caused my newly-heightened awareness regarding men to send up red flags. He really liked me and wanted to set up another date right then, but I doubt I’ll be keen on meeting up with him again. I’m not attracted to him enough to throw caution to the wind and just hook up, and I’m certainly not dumb enough to not use the instincts I’ve gone Hell so much to sharpen!

I went out with Kristian, 27, who is an accountant for a software company in Greenville, South Carolina. We went to Wild Wing Cafe in Anderson, SC to see his friend’s band play. The band was awesome!

The date was not.

I’m praying this guy never calls me again because he could tell I don’t want him to, but this will obviously not happen because, as he proved last night, he was the world’s worst at picking up non-verbal cues.

I went out with James, 24, of Greenville, South Carolina who is a law student at the College of Charleston. We went for drinks at my favorite pub, The Irish Pub.

James has a somewhat open relationship with a girl from Russia who lives in Charleston, so I’m stepping lightly here. I enjoy his company and we are still in contact; we went for gelato a few weeks after this. I don’t think, however, that I’ll be able to go out continually unless there’s a change in his relationship situation.

I went out with Dane, 24, from Georgia who works as a Social Studies teacher in Winder, GA. We went to Speakeasy in Athens, GA.

I thought the date went well and I really enjoyed his company, but he didn’t return those feelings so we didn’t see each other again.

I went out with Jason, 27, from New York who works at the corporate offices for Denny’s Restaurants. We went to Lieu’s Chinese Bistro for dinner and drinks at Addy’s after.

I wasn’t attracted to him so we chose not to see each other again.
