recently i’m been having these random dizzy spells. i tell myself they’ll go away. and when i’m calm, they do. but i feel that my almost constant nervous energy brings them on.
i need to stop it. slow it down. enjoy my life without the worry.
know that in the end, everything will be okay.
How to stop being nervous
How I did it: First it required a shift in attitude. I realised when I foocus on negative outcomes is when I grow nervous, example what will people think is I mess up? They'll know I am not prepared or I am sure I am wrong. The first step was to not listen to the negative voices in my head.
But even if you intellectually know that its in your head the point is we feel nervousness in our gut... getting over the physiological aspect was therefore even tougher because it ment retraining the body and the mind together.
Yoga and Vipassana meditaion have been very powerful tools to manage the the mind-body connection.
At psychologcal level it required understanding my realtionship with my self, assessing my self-esteem. This required considerable instrospection.
Finally, of course I have ensured that whether it ia presentation, interview public speech or meeting people at a party it helps to do your homework, plan what you will say and how.
Nervousness nover really goes away but i realised I can manage it and keep it at bay.
