My life has changed a lot since I first started messing with ZTD. In particular, my inboxes have definitely changed. I’ll rate how good I am at processing them quickly from 1 (bad) to 3 (good). Good processing means giving items timely attention as well as responding to them at a rate that meets the rate at which new items arrive.
1. Cellphone voice mail: 2.5
2. Work voice mail: 1
3. Personal email: 2
4. Work email: 2.5
5. Consulting job email: 2.5
6. Home snail mail: 3
7. Work snail mail: 3
8. Starred Google Reader articles: 1.5
9. Research “to read” list: 1
10. Bookmarked websites (home): 2
11. Bookmarked websites (work): 1.5
[UPDATE] Oh, and 43Things interactions and cheers! Sadly, I give this one a 1.

Three goals at a time is just too much. This one’s on hold until I finish one of my others.
I still kinda use this system but more sporadicly. Simply, I don’t beat myself up if I don’t do it one day.

I finally processed my email! ^^ It took me about 5 minutes, why did I put it off so much?

So Confused
I’m not sure if I’m going about this the right way. Maybe I’m going to fast. I don’t know. I had this idea of increasing the amount I increase by each time I succeed to speed the pace of this goal. I’m just afraid it will fall through like my snacks goal. That’s not entirely true, my snacks goal didn’t fail. I abandoned it because my meals became large and I figured I would fare better with a portion control system than by limiting my snacks. I did it too soon though and now I’ll never know if my methodology actually worked.
I’m trying to work more at letting go and letting Universe. I intend to implement ZTD and fill this intention with passion and chi. If the Universe wills it I will get my wish no matter what. If there’s something better for me, I will have that instead. I feel better already. ^^

Actually doing stuff on master to-do list. ^^ Whee! That’s what I originally set out to do.
Oddly enough, I’m starting to randomly suck at actually doing my M.I.Ts so it will probably take me longer to develop that habit.

Processed rest of items. Tomorrow I will start by tackling both habits 1 & 2. If I go at this pace it will take me another 39 days to finish this goal. Compared to my earlier 75 days, this is quick. I know I’m not supposed to look ahead but I am really eager to finish these current goals. :P I think I may have some better ideas.
I hope this whole thing actually helps me to stick with ZTD this time. The last time I fell off because of school and my planner and all. If I nail habits 1 and 2 this time I suppose that would constantly shove the reminder of my little blue notebook in my face. That could help greatly.

Threw away 3 items. Easy peasy.
I was so confused before, I used to think the inbox and the master to-do list were the same thing. o_O Thank goodness I don’t anymore.
I figure the someday list on my blog isn’t an inbox because I shouldn’t be processing it daily, only when I complete all my goals and need more ones.
Having a collection box (is that what you call them?) online shouldn’t be too bad. If I’m ever processing in an area where I can’t reach it I can just write down the info on another piece of paper.
So I now have 4 inboxes, that’s not too bad. I need my school planner inbox, when I try to use other lists I usually end up pushing off school stuff.
I’m starting to get a lot of ideas for new, maybe more important goals I could pursue (like releasing my attachments) so I’m thinking of jump starting this goal by processing all the stuff I currently have in my blue book and then pursuing both the collection and processing habit at the same time (collect & process 1 item, 2 the next, etc.). I’ll have to look at my blue book and see if that would take too long, I’ve got a massive test I’m studying for. I’ll write tomorrow with my decision.

In fear about how I would be able to get my massive amounts of homework done I have been planning my M.I.Ts one, sometimes two days in advance. This does not appear to be working. v_v I’m going to stick with big rocks being weekly and M.I.Ts daily.
On the plus side I got some cute stickers that I can use to mark priorities in my planner for at 3 days. Next week I also intend to take on 5 big rocks since 4 worked so wonderfully this week. Maybe I’ll hit 10, maybe not. Doesn’t matter either way. ^^

At this current point I have 5 inboxes:
1) Blue book where I write stuff
2) Someday list on blog
3) Someday list on random paper
4) My school planner
5) Gmail
I’d like to knock that down to 3, maybe less. I don’t think I can combine my planner with my blue notebook. The planner keeps track of urgent stuff. I suppose I could use a highlighter or some kind of color coding system to separate urgent and non-urgent. Any advice would be appreciated.
On another note, I’ve already processed my item for the day, it’s not half as hard as I thought it would be.

Hey what happened to the question button?!
First, I will sort of introduce myself. I am a busy student who wants to implement the minimal ZTD system. Though I do very well at Habit 3 I am far from perfect with the others. My plan is to start with the second habit because that’s the one I haven’t done in the longest. I think it would be too hard to collect and then process. I need to have the processing down so I can deal with the collection later. I’ll process one thing, then 2, etc., etc. so forth. I suppose I’ll keep going until I can process about 15-20 things. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I’ll then start on Habit 1, using a similar methodology.
Habit 4 shouldn’t be too hard. I have a lot of alone time after school which makes not multitasking pretty easy. Unfortunately, I’ll have to do my homework without music. v_v I’ll start with my M.I.Ts, doing 1 without multitasking until I finish the M.I.Ts and then move to blue book stuff.
