Sticky Toffee Pudding

This is delicious, and has become a firm favourite of BashfulC & I already (even though he doesnt normally like STP!)

As we are on a bit of a health-kick at the moment, I think I need to experiment with some healthier fruit desserts over the next couple of weeks, but thats fine! z

I’ve forgotten to update this goal! So I’ve missed a few recipes….but tonight I made Vegetarian Pie which will count as the official number 20.

The boy and I have an ongoing joke about ‘being a good woman and making pie’ (who can pick the SATC reference?) so it was pretty funny that I finally made one. It was yum!

Chicken & Mushroom Pie

This was EASY to make, and tasted much better than any shop bought pies (in my opinion) so this will be something we have again!

Recipe 11 is Truffle Torte.

And it is delicious.

Today I managed to juggle the baby to cook 2 desserts from my new cookbook.

BashfulC had chosen which 2 recipies he most wanted to try, and I had bought the ingredients specially to make them, so I started with those today.

I made Parkin, which needs to sit for a couple of days to let the flavour mature and the moistness of the cake spread throughout. When I come to serve the Parkin, I will also have a hot rhubarb sauce to go with it, with home grown rhubarb. With or without the sauce, the parkin is looking good already.

I also made little individual Macadamia Nut Chocolate Cakes, as BashfulC apparently loves Macadamia nuts. They tasted good too, though it wasnt quite as special as I had been hoping for. BashfulC seemed to enjoy it though.

There are lots of recipies in my cookbook which look good, so Ill look forward to making those for BashfulC to try out.

So for now that means I can add to my list:

BashfulC bought me a lovely cookbook this week, all of desserts, as desserts are the thing I enjoy cooking the most!

Am looking forward to testing out a few of these very soon! xx

Well despite my reservations about boiling an unopened tin of condensed milk for 4 hours in a saucepan, I attempted this, and ended up spening 4 hours obsessively treking in and out of the kitchen every ten minutes to check the water levels!

Anyway, I was impressed with the results, as I thought the banoffe pie was rather nice! BashfulC also seemed pretty impressed with it too! Anyway, now I have found a way to make a rather delicious caramel, Ill be able to try lots of other desserts now!

This is technically the third cheesecake Ive attempted during the last month, but Im not listing the other two… mainly because they weren’t very successful!

My latest attempt has turned out well though, and because Ive kept the rhurab seperate as a topping, it means that there is a choice of whether it goes on or not, which is great as the cheesecake tastes lovely both with and without the topping!

Am really pleased that this worked out, as i ADORE cheesecake and this recipe was pretty straightforward but delicious… and it got another ‘gorgeous’ rating from my BashfulC.

I need to buy an electric whisk though… that much is certain!!!
