But I’ve had a skate board and other wheeled transportation before getting an actual long board that’s all.

i took the plunge today and bought a board! i went online and found one for about half the price i’d have to pay at the local skate shop. i did some research and am pretty sure that i am getting what i want, now to learn how to ride it! Hopefully my snowboarding skills translate over as i expect concrete and asphalt to be more painful than snow.

...and then i saw the new snowboard cross events at the winter olympics. In one of the clips where they introduce you to a athlete they showed one of the women training on a longboard. It looked awesome and so fun! The more i started looking around the more i started noticing people at college who had longboards and thought that it was something i might be interested in doing. After talking to several people i’m sure that this is now what i want to do. i’ve just started shopping around and am looking for advice.
Finally! I’ve been wanting one of these for such a long time, I really don’t have a good excuse for waiting until now . . .well honestly maybe I was afraid of what the ppl in the skate shop would think, me being a girly-girl and all, but I got past that and am glad to be learning how to ride.
I started snowboarding a couple years back, I’m a beginner of the intermediate level from taking lessons, but longboarding is a little different. Balance helps alot, it’s just the stopping, but then what’s the point of stopping if all you want to do is go! hah, but really I tried going down a hill and got the serious “wobbles” unlike anything I’ve ever experienced, so the nxt thing i’ll tackle is carving and perhaps later w/ more experience buy some sliding gloves. . . definitely a helmet and some crash pads! :D
