Well, I have got some of my containers planted and most of my herbs are coming along! A bit of a setback though….... we have been planning to put in a new patio, not right away as it would be a HUGE amount of work, so the plan was to get the garden itself finished and work on the greenhouse, then start the patio next year, however…..the people that owned this house before us decided to build a deck. But they did not bother to tear out the existing old patio blocks, they just built the deck right over top! Which means not only do we have to rip out the deck, but about 500 sq ft of concrete as well! ARRRRRGHHHH!!!!! Now here is the part that SUCKS. The deck they built is only about 6 inches high, so we cant get underneath it. Why do we need to get underneath it????
There must be a whole colony of WASPS under there!!! There are so many wasps out there that it is becoming unpleasant to sit outside! We keep seeing them going in and out of a few cracks in the wood. We have hung some of those fake nests to try and scare them off, but it is not working so all we can do is tear it out. BLAHHHHHHHHHH I was hoping to put this off till next year but we don’t want our little girl to get stung, or us for that matter. So it looks like a bit more construction has to be done:(

It’s been a great week! The weather has been beautiful and I’ve accomplished lots in the garden! I also did manage to find a companion for Benny (my gargoyle yard guardian) She is just beautiful! Ask and you shall receive;) I will post her pic as soon as I can. I have also found a great website that sells the most beautiful Garden fairies I have ever seen! Might have to get one!

My garden is and will likely always be a work in progress.
When I moved to this house, the yard had never been “worked” so I spent a year just preparing the ground, planning, ensuring that the soil was fertile, and figuring out what sort of light conditions I had to work with. Well, 3 years later My magickal garden is really coming together. I still have some difficult spots to deal with, but I am finally to the point where I can start really personalizing the space. I feel like the last few years have been all work and preparation and now it is time to enjoy my creation!
My plans for this year include;
*Building a “directionally correct” stone circle
pentacle patio with stone alters
*Invoking Fairie Magic into the garden
*Build a green house
*Find a girlfriend for my yard guardian (gargoyle) ;)

I was at the libray recently and bought a discarded book for $1.00 that is really awesome. It is a step by step quide to figuring out what sort of garden you want to have, choosing your plants and accessories, and making your dream come to life step by step. It has a very practical set of steps to follow but also encourages you to dig deep into your intuition, memory, and inner self to discover what truly feeds your soul. This will be a great resource in helping me form a clearer vision of what I want and to make it happen.

My dreams for a magickal garden are finally underway. I have been living in subsurbia for a few years and last fall my hubby & I had our backyard landscaped. We started out with the basics…a fence, grass, and three magickal trees… and as a gift to myself and the fae I added a large stone altar.
At the moment the garden is sleeping under the Snow Queen’s cloak, while I sit by my cozy hearth spinning plans for spring.
For years I have been collecting books on magickal gardening and I can’t wait to put them to use! I would love for my garden to have the wild look that the fae are so fond of. I want it to be filled with crystals and beautiful statuary of faeries, goddesses, and the Green Man.
I plan to grow herbs and edible flowers and whatever else speaks to my heart.
I would love for it to be a sanctuary for myself, the faeries, and also wildlife. Often I receive messages from birds and I want to have feeders and places for them to nest. There are also jackrabbits in my neighbourhood that I’m sure will visit.
I am blessed to have a mother who is a Master Gardener who can help me map out a plan as to where to put things and what plants would be best for my climate. She has a magickal faery garden herself with a beautiful pond.
I am very interested in moon gardening, inviting the fae into my garden, and creating a sacred space for myself to enjoy meditation, magick, ritual, and simply relaxing.
So now I’m about to dig up my magickal gardening books and start rereading them for ideas. I also need to borrow my mom’s book on edible flowers written by a lady who lives in my climate. Yay!
The picture attached to this post is my “blank canvas” showing a couple of the trees (trembling aspen and linden) as well as my stone altar. :)
