a big box of clothes for T to come round and collect. Some of them are fine, but I just don’t wear them anymore, so she is going to give those to an organisation for children who don’t go to school (quite a big problem in Japan) and therefore find it hard to get a job to buy nice clothes to wear to an interview to get a job..etc. Some of them are stained and or holey (thank you, Mr Washing Machine), so she is going to wear them when she is in the workshop, or if all else fails she will rip them up and use them as rags to clean the car with. It feels great to finally have them out of the house!
Now I just have to sort through the underwear drawer and sew up one more skirt and one pair of trousers, and I’ll be done!

one men’s unflatteringly shaped shirt with the best print ever, sewn. I have a waistline!
Also sewed one trouser leg, but then ran out of epsiodes to QI to watch while sewing and called it a night.
Might finish the pair tonight, depending on when my interview for national Japanese TV finishes. I’m worried they may have mistaken me for someone who can speak Japanese. Maybe I can just sit in silence throughout and nod appropriately?

One bobble hat, unsightly. Thrown!

Sewn: one hideous chinzy blue skirt, from dire mid-calf (the worse length for any skirt, ever) to a “retro” and “ironic” above the knee! I love the new combination of grandma pattern and racy, flesh flashing length [lack thereof
! Shame it’s still in the minuses outside.
Thrown: one sock; two shrunken victims of the washing machine jumper massacre; two pairs of hole ridden, god knows what encrusted tights; one pair of ski pants, melted (really must stop putting things directly on the heater to “warm up” before wearing them); one red vest made for smaller bossoms than mine; one pair of mangled hold up faux stockings, in tan. Used to make me look like I was trying to cover up a pair of artificial legs underneath.
You can see why I held onto items of such quality for so long.
