Totally behind on deadline 6 months ago

for the novel and in my zen manner I don’t even care. I’ll rewrite this year, edit the draft 0 to draft 1 and 2.

Meanwhile I have a book of sixty-something poems – a real beauty. I can share those poems with the world, soon.

I wrote a novel!!!!!! 6 months ago

I’ve had this idea in my head for 10 years and finally, this Novemeber signed up for National Novel Writing Month, committing myself to 50,000 words by 11/30. I finished on 11/26 and got teary when I typed “THE END”. Now I want to get it published! I am beginning my rewrite so I can submit it to Amazon’s Breakthrough Novel Award Contest. This would be a lifelong dream for me.

I’m taking part in NaNoPubYe, so I now have 1 month to finish the publishing of my book. I really should not have left it for so long!
Think I’ll go for self-publishing.

Time to write write write 12 months ago

The outline took four months. Sitting around for one month. Typing and re-writing should take two months. If I start this month, it’ll be done in August, not July as originally hoped.
OK, needing an agent.
Good luck to us!

This is something 14 months ago

I’ve wanted to do for years. At this point however, I don’t technically have a novel written. I have written novels, several in fact, but they were those ‘childish’ ones (refer to previous entry). It thus seems silly to have ‘publish my novel’ as a goal when I haven’t yet written a novel that I feel is publishable material. Thus, I will ‘give up’ on this goal for now however, I have not really given up on it. I am just waiting to finishing writing the first book in one series and start the first book of the other.

Progress, at last! 16 months ago

After nearly two years of struggling to get an agent’s attention, it finally happened: I have an agent. According to my “personal challenge”, I still have about 300 days to sell this book, or else I have to give up and get a real job. Will it really happen? I hope so, but who can ever say?

Publish my novel 16 months ago

For one year I tried to market my YA novel. First time the publisher wanted it but they didn’t take anything with abuse of any kind. Second publisher said some parts didn’t sound like a boy, main character. Now I have had an agent marketing it for two years. It is a good novel with good themes, and no other YA novel in this setting is on the market.

Query letter 18 months ago

I think I have written a good query letter. For now, it is good. I will be working on it a little more for the next couple of days, to try and make it great. I want to start sending out from Monday.

the novel is written (first draft) and i have started with the re-writing and editing bits. i suppose it is time to start testing the waters by writing those query letters and sending them off to agents.
