Well, I did it. Last thing in the world I needed was another dog, but here she is. Love her to death. Shes calm, sweet, smart, and funny. Stay tuned for more.
I have found a breeder and contacted him. His dogs have all the health tests done that are required and are working dogs with Schutzhund titles. Family raised and temperment and health are a big deal for him. I love the look of his shepherds and they fall in the price range I had expected to pay. On the downside I will have to get the puppy shipped but that is ok with me, though I would like to see the litter and pick out my own. I do trust this breeder to be able to evaluate the individual puppies and pick one out for us that fits our needs. This still wont be happening for awhile, probably next six months or so.
My husband has wanted a GS for so long, and things have always kept us from having one for one reason or another. We are in the process of buying a house right now, with a very large yard. It still is going to be awhile since we dont want to add another dog to the mix just yet, but someday.
Serenity_19 is running on the treadmill!
I had one a while back but I had to give him away since my job kept me out of the house alot. But I regret it so bad! I quit that job and I want another one or the same one if my friends willing to give him back :)
we used to have them. they are my favorite dogs, and i just miss that companionship.
I want to get a german shepherd and name him Jaxx. Maybe in 4 or 5 years when my kids are older. I think it would be cool to teach him commands in german!
I got my first gsd eight years ago. His name is Brin, or Bindi as we call him. He is one of the best things I ever did, along with my other gsd, Jalen, who is three next week.
GSDs are alot of work, don’t get me wrong. And Bindi is long haired, so – say goodbye to a neat and clean house ! They need alot of walking and they like it if you’re home alot (which is ok, cos I am). Your housing requirements are dictated by them (I am moving house and have to discount flats and places without large private gardens !) But on the other hand -
They are the most faithful dogs going. They will protect you to their last breath. They are intelligent and reliable. Treat them well and when you look in their eyes you will see only love and devotion. And they give good doggy hugs. ;)
