Freecycle is great! 21 months ago

Have just upgraded our TV (thanks to a little legacy) and we decided to ‘freecycle’ our perfectly good 26” TV. Opted for giving it to a family whose elderly dad’s eyesight meant his small screen was difficult. They picked it up at weekend, and emailed us recently to say ‘dad says it’s like being at the cinema’! Aaah! What a good feeling ..

Is this now second nature? Over the Xmas break, we have:
    - given cat biscuits that our cats won’t eat to a friend’s cat
    - taken unwanted Xmas gifts to the PDSA charity shop
    - recycled old diary pages (see sep entry)
    - sought out 2 old mobile phones to give to a local charity

Over the break, I went through my 04 and 05 Franklin Covey diaries and sorted the pages into paper for shredding, paper for notes and paper for lists. Then I tidied up the ‘scrap paper’ drawer and made separate piles for lists, notes, and using in the printer. It’s a small step but it makes me feel I’m doing my (little) bit…

I do this quite a bit but want to try and ensure that hubby does so too – especially when printing stuff off the computer. Will need to re-sort my pile of paper to be recyled and sort it into:
confidential stuff to be shredded (and do so!)
paper suitsble for printing on other side
    paper for making notes etc
