I always thought I was a winter or perhaps a summer in seasonal colour analysis. Because I was going by how I looked in shop dressing rooms, with the horrible lighting that washes you out. But I was looking back through old photos of when I was younger, and comparing colours that suit me to seasonal colour charts, and I think I may have had it completely wrong, I may be a soft autumn! But my severe lack of sun exposure for the last few years hides this because I’ve lost all my colour. This makes sense now, because I look horrible in pure white, light grey and pastels, and good in gold jewellery. :D 5 months ago

I’ve figured out which colours and basic styles suit me and have built a basic wardrobe around that, and managed to move away from the childrens department, but I still have a lot of garish colours, poor quality and ill fitting items. And I still wear gym clothes out a lot. God help me if I ever need to wear a suit to work. And shoe shopping is a nightmare, as I have small, narrow feet, and all children’s shoes these days seem to be a wide fit, and the designs belong on 6 year olds. :(
I highly recommend a ruthless wardrobe purge to help with this though, if you’re feeling really lost. And dishing out extra $$$ for nicer clothes really seems to make a difference, as long as your buying good quality basics. Being patient and not looking for things to like seems to help when it comes to shopping, that was and still is a big problem for me. 5 months ago
I had an epiphany today as I was walking around work and saw someone wearing something I’d love to own. I’m going to make a picture book of all things I want. Then, when I actually have money to buy them, I’ll know what to buy! PLUS it will help give me things to ask for for Christmas so I don’t have to deal with other people’s styles anymore. 7 months ago
No progress since Jan. and I am feeling like I don’t know how to do this. I need to start saving money again just for this purpose so I can purchase clothes and shoes and accessories. :). 14 months ago
a lot of new clothes. and was able to get rid of a lot of old clothes. And I got clothes for Christmas that were actually my style :). So, I’m on my way to achieving this goal. Not quite there, but one day people are going to say “I saw this and knew you’d love it.” and I will love it. 15 months ago
...put away $10-$20 a week and save it up for clothes in a seperate bank account from my husband by the end of the year I hope to have about $700 to spend on a whole new wardrobe! It’s going to be hard to wait, but think about the payoff at the end is going to make it worth it. I also hope to have lost weight by then and be at least close to my goal weight, so I hope to be able to find a lot of clothes that I’m happy with at that time because I hope to be able to fit into clothes better! I’m feeling rather smug right now waiting to go to the bank tonight to put my cash away into my private account, so my husband won’t realize my new budget for clothes lol. 2 years ago
to have people look at something and say, “that is very you.” And actually have it be “very me” 2 years ago
left to Francesca’s. New boots from Khol’s (SimplyVera) with my $50 gift certificate :), and a new pair of jeans from TJMaxx with my $40 gift certificat. I bought a shirt from francesca’s and it was cute, and it still is, but I think it will be much better if I lose some weight in my arms…and stomach…and ya know, everywhere… working on that. 2 years ago
