The unbelievable results of the 2000 elections in the U.S. drove me over the edge. What a fraud. And what a sad mistake.
I started listening to candidates in mid-2003, very early in the 2004 cycle. Serve on my county’s central committee. Tend to hang w/ people that want to discuss AND change this country from what we’ve been wallowing in since 2000.
ShipwreckMazuma I like life. Life likes me.
I used to be secretary and/or an alternate at the Democratic caucuses, but as time rolled out I ran out of time and inspiration for it. Lately I’ve been paying closer attention to the local Green party and might become involved with them.
I have found the political process not to be the avenue I’m looking for in which to do good things. Too much red tape, too many hoops to jump through…and even if you get through these, you only get 1/4 done as you would’ve like in any issue. Private non-profits are the way to go.
Pam Ellison wants you to help her out if you live in Minnesota. Pam Ellison is running as an independent candidate for governor, on the issues of revamping the public education system, ensuring that local farmers have the necessities to run a viable and healthy business, and on making sure every MN citizen has access to affordable healthcare. If any of this sounds good to you, visit her website at www.pamforgov.com or message me here, on 43 Things! Until then, cheers!
