For all of my things I want to do that involve strength, dexterity, and all those other things are things that I truly want to improve on. I’ve been insiped to do those things and I hope I can achieve them.

I can hold my releves and sous sous for a lot longer than I used to be able to…and the other day I held a passe en releve for like, a minute. Sorry if that’s gibberish to a lot of people. :-)

P.S. I am annoyed at myself because the only time I ever do situps is when they make us do them at color guard practice. :-(

I’m quite average in ballet, and I know improving my balance is one of the things that would really help me be quite good. I plan to practice my passe and other ballet techniques that involve excellent balance and do situps to strengthen my stomach as a daily routine…or maybe every other day. or maybe alternate the balancing and the situps like monday: situps tuesday: balance wednesday: situps…etc

i’ve been thinking about this goal qute a bit lately. during my yoga class last week the instructor was talking about how some days your balance is good and some days its not, and you cant be hard on yourself when its not so good because then youll just end up creating an unquiet state of mind and making the situation even worse. the key to good balance is a quiet mind, focus and concentation, and breathing. so im thinking that should really be the core of this goal, not just improving my balance, but improving the balance of my mind and making it more still and quiet. i’m pretty sure that if i manage to do that, it would actually help with some of my other goals that are related to the nervous things i do when im upset or bored, like pull my hair, pick at my face, or pick at my cuticles. these are things i do because my mind isnt still and it translates into nervous fidgets in my body like that.

i plan to do this by practicing headstand and other balance poses in yoga. right now, balance series are my least favorite part of yoga class, and i want to improve my balance.



"sitting" on one foot 3 years ago

I used to only be able to “sit” on one foot (one foot on the ground, the other ankle on top of the grounded knee with my upper body leaning back a little and legs in front of me) for a few seconds at a time. After dancing and spinning in place for minutes, I can now sit on one foot for much longer without losing my balance.
