    Enough said.

    mmm... 11 months ago

I am pretty good about it, since I don’t use credit cards, but I could avoid totally wasting money, from time to time, on things I don’t need or I could wait to buy when they are on sale… like the 30 euros spent on a pair of pants I didn’t need and that don’t even fit me well! I feel sooo stupid when I do this!

To need or not to need, that is the question 15 months ago

Even though I’ve shunned using my credit card and I specifically budget for certain things that I need/want so I can pay cash for them, I still feel bad because I’m not sure if everything that I pay cash for is something I absolutely need. Though, I have to have a little bit of fun and buy some stuff I want, right?!?

I haven't bought anything lately 15 months ago

Unless I count my daughter’s birthday. I took her shopping the week of her birthday (August 10). I promised her a pair of the jeans she liked (Silver). I knew they were expensive and a few tops. I figured I’d spend about $150. Well, we went to The Buckle which I know was a big mistake and spent a lot more. My daughter did not get the $136 shirt the salesclerk slipped her under the dressing room door, not after I saw the price tag as she was ringing up the purchases. I made a big stink and the salesclerk apologised. I told her I was paying for the clothes and my daughter had a limit to spend. Rachel said I was rude and she hadn’t even picked the item out herself, the salesclerk had. I told her that was why I made a Big Stink because the salesclerk worked on commision.

    catalogs 18 months ago

I get all these catalogs in the mail and I know I shouldn’t look at them. Brylane Home, Chadwick’s and Doctors Foster and Smith. I want something from all of them but I don’t have the money and I no longer have a credit card I can use either. I’m feeling a little anxious about it.

Brylane Home: I want different curtains, a comforter and a recliner slipcover for the bedroom.

Chadwicks: Two cute blazers and some tshirts.

Drs Foster & Smith: Monti needs a new carrier…one that’s softer and zips on the top. Actually this is a need so I’ll be saving up for it.

I've been stimulated! 19 months ago

Just received my government stimulus money! I’m making a list of things I need to buy…landscaping stuff, floor mats for the car, car detailing, some clothes for work. Hopefully I’ll have some left over…$100 to savings and $100 to debt.

Also, I’m buying new windows for my condo…4 years no interest. So, yes, technically it will be debt but I will not be counting it as part of my “get out of debt”...mostly because my mom will be helping me pay for it and we figured it will take us about a year to pay it off.

Do I really need to get new floor mats and my car detailed? I would like it to be nice and clean. I need it to last because I’ll be driving it until I can afford another one…which will be half past never! No, maybe by 2018 I can buy another car. ;)

the foot didn't stay down 20 months ago

I’ve been getting carried away with buying decor for the condo. I bought some art…about $240 worth. I put about $104 on the credit card. Oh the shame! So starting now and all of April I am going to try my hardest not to buy any decor or any clothes/shoes…and I’m definitely not going to use my credit card.

I'm putting my foot down 22 months ago

I just squeezed my budget tight! I overspent by $135 so I had to dip into some funds that had some cushion. Now the cushion is gone, I’m still short $38 and I don’t feel good because there’s no padding in some of my funds (like electricity and gas for car).

So now I am putting my foot down on myself and I’m not going to spend any money that isn’t for something that’s in a specific fund that has money in it. Also, no more using the credit card because I want that puppy paid off by August this year!
