buy a mac mini

i need one for my graphic design business as well as college, since it is my major. my poor little dell has been through hell and back. it cant keep up with me.

My original 17” PowerBook G4 is dying now, so I just decided to pull the trigger on a new machine for home. I really didn’t want to buy a new display or accessories, but after comparing the specs, and being unsure as to whether my ancient 17” Studio Display would have to have an adapter (a $80 adapter, probably…) to hook up to the Mini, I decided to just go with the iMac instead. I really love the tiny form of the Minis, but the iMac won’t take up that much more space than the existing display, and it seemed to offer more options.

I wish I still had a reason to get a Mini, though. They’re just so damn cute.

I’m definitely getting a Mac, but I may stick it out for a MacBook instead… one with a touch screen.

I really want a Mac Pro, but if I had a Mac mini (the 1.83Ghz) I could run the iLife I bought. I really want to use GarageBand and my current mac is too slow. My husband also wants to use Aperture for his photography. We would also like to use it as a DVR and watch stuff we download on iTunes with our HDTV.
Having kids and being on a tight budget, I can’t really justify buying anything ‘fun’. I use a PC at work for XML, XSLT and web design / development. I can’t sell buying a mac to my boss. But I see so much cool software I could use with a little more computing power.

Got a refurbished Mini last week. It’s so much faster than my old iMac it’s not even funny. Seems like an excellent machine so far.

I bought one a few months after they first came out. It was the higher end version. $600.00. Use it a lot at first but found it it was actually kind of slow. Just wished mac memory wasn’t so expensive.

The specs of the Mac mini aren’t great, so I wouldn’t want one as my primary computer. But as a secondary computer it’s great. It sits nicely on top of my Dell PC and with a KVM switch and a quick keystroke I can switch between my PC and MAC like changing tv channels.

i got a new imac g5 instead!!! i LOVE IT!!! and refurbed it was only like $900.

they screwed the mac mini over with the graphics/video card, so its stupid to get one now. damn apple…

Oh, man, I love this thing. It’s the $499 model—so, it’s kind of “entry level,” but it’s about nine thousand times cooler than my clunky old PC. I’ve seriously fallen in love with OS X, and five to seven hundred dollars is a nice price for the aspiring Mac cultist.
