...and it really is habit-forming to “season your words with salt.” I also realize that I have the power to influence the mood of entire room of people, with whether I am kind and encouraging, or cruel and selfish. I am becoming acutely aware of things I say that can have a negative influence – whether I’m even MEANING to be selfish or not. Little things like, when a friend tells me good news and I jokingly say “I’m jealous!” and unintentionally turn the conversation around to me, rather than congratulating her. How is constructive to say things like that? It only makes for awkward conversation, and turns me into a whining, ungrateful person rather than the encouraging, loving person I long to be.

I talked a little bit of shit. But less than usual.

And I definitely talked about work during my break.

    Oh, well, small steps.

I am not going to talk shit at work today.

I dislike the company I work for, yes.

But I’m not going to talk about work while I’m off the clock or on break.

I’m not going to needlessly complain about things that can’t be changed.

I’m not getting in any bitchfests with the dressers.

    So there.
