How I did it: I saved some money. Booked a train ticket and sat in the train for 5 hours. Time flies. I went to the Oktober fest and i want to go again in some point in my life. I had a great time Read how I did it…

How I did it: It was really cool, exepting the part I didn't do what I had really planned, I was going to meet a friend and he just didn't go. Ok, he said he could go that time, but all he had to do was taking a train and meet me, but he didn't, I crossed the ocean to see him, he got no notion, I got really disappointed but I tried to enjoy my trip, anyways, I really wanted to go to Germany! I would see my best friend too, but his city is distant so I … Read how I did it…

How I did it: During my junior year of high school I transferred to a new school. A group of the students there were planning a trip to Germany for spring break via EF tours. I started saving and working my butt off to earn enough chedda' to pay for the trip, and, lo and behold, I pulled through. It was the most fun I've ever had and totally worth the 2.5 grand I dropped for it. (room and board included) I grew closer to o… Read how I did it…
How I did it: It took about 3-4 months of discussing and planning for this to work for me. I was able to go for pretty cheap because my friends are stationed at Ramstein so I stayed for 16 days with them while I was there rather than pay for hotels. I checked ticket prices everyday. At the time for the particular dates I had chosen to go, expedia.com had the best deal for me. This really may not be very helpful to those that don't have friends statione… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I did it with an exchange program that was offered through my school last summer, and then this summer I went back on my own. I looked for cheap flights a lot online and searched through German travel agencies for flights as well as American. I find that staying in youth hostels is an inexpensive yet practical place to stay if you are looking to save money. I also stayed with the host family with whom I was originally staying, so that hel… Read how I did it…

I’m in high school at the moment, and one of my classes is German. My school has a German Exchange, for only those who take German, and I’m gonna do it. If you don’t know, the German Exchange happens during the summer, for about 3-4 weeks, and we go to Germany, part of Austria, and part of Switzerland. The cost of it is about $4000, and it may be up to $4500, so another one of my goals on my list is to make $5000 within 2 years, since the next exchange is in the summer of 2011.
I am a 21 year old Ethiopian with a lot of confidence and desire for improvement. I have first degree in Computer Science. I love Germany and Germans. I especially would be the happiest man ever if i will have the chance to get there and have further education. I will try my best to achieve this goal
By the end of year with little effort I will go in Frankfurt to visit my family and to practice my German language skills.
Germany sounds like a really cool place, I’ve been to Aachen before but that was only for a day or two. I’d appreciate a longer stay next time.

One of my BEST friends is living and Germany and wants me to come over to Munich. While I’m there for a long weekend I’m planning on taking the train to Austria and Italy and back. 6 hrs total. How could I not? It’s right there! To not go would simply be lazy and inexcusable. If I’m going to be on a plane for 13 hours, I might as well add a 6 hr train ride. lol

This is why I need a passport. My buddy Taylor and I promised we would try our best to save up for a trip to DEUTSCHLAND! I really hope that I can save enough money up this semester to go. My mom says I should save it for my education, but honestly, I think eine Besuch nach dem Vaterland will be educational (historically and linguistically). And… That’s what God made student loans for. So I am putting another related goal on here – set up a savings account – so I can start SAVING money. If I leave it in my checking, it will be spent.
Ok I am SOOOOOOOOO excited, I might have the chance to go to Frankfurt this summer! I was going to go on exchange in Sept 09’ but i just feel I’m not ready because I would be going for a whole year! I am curretly living in La Paz, Bolivia and around June or July we are going to move to California. It would just be too much for me to move from here to there. So I might go to Frankfurt in June or July and then I would spend 11th grade in the U.S. and then for my senior year I would go to Germany for a year of exchange. GREAT PLAN! but it depends if I like Germany this summer….I think i will!!!!!!!
