Teddy?

what’s happening with them this time.

Charmaine said she saw them grooming each other for the first time yesterday. :-)

They’ve sat on top of the couch before, but recently it was the first time they sat up there where they were facing each other.

Teddy let Jumper play with his tail a little bit the other day.

And in the past Jumper wanted to show Teddy that she was the boss. Yesterday she was actually being submissive to him. Teddy didn’t take the hint though.

In our apartment we are renting from a liquor store, and the landlord/store owner’s office is attached to our apartment. The door is normally kept locked but he had to open it up to come in when the ice maker was flooding. The door was open at one point and Teddy ran through his office and into the back of the store.

He didn’t make it as far as the store itself but he got back by the cold storage. We were trying to get him, and the landlord got him and carried him back into our apartment. And Charmaine was so anxious to bring him back that she was back in storage with her robe on.

We locked him up in the other room until after the door was shut and while the plumbers were working. He’s Mr.Curious, whereas Jumper is more of scaredy cat and will hide.

Teddy and Jumper are both sleeping on the bed in here. Which is nice to see. :-) They haven’t cuddle up next to each other yet (other than touching tails earlier.)

But, anyway…

We got Teddy from The Animal Shelter here in Rhinelander. They said they thought Teddy was about 5 years old. The vet said he thought he’s between 5 and 8 years old.

He was a stray that was found by a bar in Harshaw. The poor thing had been at that shelter for over a month.

He is so happy to be here in a nice warm house, with more room to roam, and people that love him.

He’s very gentle, and very affectionate.

He likes to sit on our laps. And will even nuzzle at our robes sometimes.

Jumper would hiss at him, and pushed down on him a few times before, but he’d just walk away from her. I guess he’s more of a lover than a fighter. Maybe he was a pacifist in another life.

Jumper is 11 years old. Charmaine got her when she was working at an Animal Shelter in Appleton. Another Cat-Fuzzball who lived to be 15, and was put to sleep last April helped pick her out.

She is a tick tabby (each strand of fur has 3 colors.) and is part Abyssinian. She is very intelligent.

They got a long pretty well.

Jumper didn’t hiss at Teddy like she did yesterday.

There was no fighting over the food.

And they were even laying down together with their tails touching.
