How I did it: I think I'm a bit OCD about my nails. For some reason I feel weird clipping them myself so when they get long, I just bite them. BUT, I've learned to do it myself. And if I'm bored I just keep my hands busy with other things. Read how I did it…
I have been bitting my nails ever since i can remember and can’t stop. I used to get fake nails put on but i would all ways break them or when they came off i waould go back to bitting my nails. if i am on holiday or busy for a while my nail grow and i would really like them to stay that way but i can’t help bitting them.
When i was 10 years old my nails were harly noticble but now thay are just tiny and allways solf and i end up bitting them
Tonight I filed my nails smooth and then painted them a pretty pink. I hope to keep my nails done nicely every day.
I used to always bite them right down… i know it sounds stupid, but it was because i wanted them to be smooth, and not have dirt under them… and even though they looked HORRIBLE, i couldnt bear the look of them with the nailbed only going halfway and white the rest of the way… PLUS they were (and admittedly still are) very weak. they break..
SO. i stopped. it was on a trip to new york. i just couldnt bear to touch anything and then have my hands in my mouth. by the time i got back from NY there was a little bit of white, and it took everything i had not to chew them off.. i asked my dad if my nail beds would ever grow back and he said maybe, but not if i scrape them so clean all the time. and he was right. i thought i was going to lose my mind, but i let them be just a little bit dirty. by that i mean, i washed them all the time, but i didnt scrape. and within a month the nailbed actually did start growing out. and as soon as the nails started breaking, i cut them off. not all of them, just the ones that broke, and only as far as i had to. i do paint them. it makes it easier to not see dirt under them while the nailbeds are coming back… also, after awhile, the bump that goes over the stubby nails starts to move down. the skin then doesnt trap as much dirt. plus the “ski slope” on the end of the nails is gone, so they arent breaking as easily and they look more “normal”.. So now i have a rule that my hands are NEVER in my mouth. i still dont have LONG nails, but ive been cutting, rather than biting them, and a few months later my nail beds almost look like a “nonbiters” nails… a few more months and you wont ever know i bit them.

GGGrrr.. Okay im like really girly and the only thing that bothers me like crazy is I cant stop bitting my nails. It’s been a week that I’ve kept my acrylic on but I keep picking on them. I cant wait till the days comes that I wont even put my fingers in my mouth. Gross. I don’t like watching people doing that so you would think that I wouldnt dare do it. WELL IM A DORK! Let’s hope I can improve this. Good luck to me and everyone else out there.
Very, it seems. The trouble is that I do it without thinking/realising. How can you catch yourself before you start chomping away on nails?
I’ve been bitting my nails for as long as I can remember, like since my first teeth came in. I’ve tried everything I can think of to stop, but somehow nothing works. I eat right thru polish. It’s rather disgusting.
Doing this really gets to me. I hate how when u paint ur nails u always have to wipe it off and it makes a major diffrence. I NEED TO STOP
