be a marketing executive

I’m not exactly giving up on this, but it is a looooong long term goal, and I want to make room for other goals on my list.

The best advice I was given, and the best advice I continue to follow as a marketing executive is to work smart, think outside the box, stay two steps ahead of the game, and network like it’s your life. I can’t tell you how many times I was able to work together with people within my circle of friends and acquaintances to help me get the job done and boost my career.
Marketing is always about trial and error so don’t get frustrated when a project fails. Learn from your mistakes and recover quickly. Try to predict the results so you’re not surprised, and keep accurate records.
Marketing careers are also all about trial and error. I worked like a slave for my last company and wasn’t making a good income. Marketing isn’t always the same – it’s good to find a good fit. I’m 22 now and I’m a executive director of sales and marketing for a Bio/nanotechnology company. I work hard, but I’m having fun and couldn’t be happier. I hope you all find the same. Good luck! : D

So you decided to be a Marketer? Test test test. Successful Marketing is all about testing and learning from your results. There’s no reason why you can’t apply the same tactics to your career. Keep an eye on your timing, your successes and exploit your strengths while developing your weaknesses into opportunities.

I’ve been working on brochures and a powerpoint presentation, tons of letters and postcards, business cards and magnets and we have recruited some work in Omaha and Crete. I’m so excited that the first 2 companies we sent information to responded! We are send more out today, hopefully they will have the same response! I hope my company takes off soon…
