cleanskies is in the depths of winter.
I’ve been in two group exhibitions this year, and next month am due to be in a major British Comics show. It’s time to see if I can do a show myself (and ideally make it pay).
How I did it: I study art and in the beginning of my third year I decided I wanted to have a solo exhibition. I applied for an exhibition time in a small gallery - the theme of my project was very suitable for the gallery, which is part of a certain charity.
I put an application together, sent them my portfolio and I got my exhibition set up for the coming spring.
I worked on my project sporadically and when I only had one month left, I was panicking. Some of the work was made in a bit of a hurry, but the exhibition turned out okay. My work was even featured on a few newspapers and I got some positive comments. Even though I am not completely satisfied with how the project turned out, I'm happy I made it through!
