Micah + Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians 1 month ago

I’ve studied the Bible my whole life. But with Scripture, there is always so much more truth to learn, so much more richness to enjoy. My goal is to re-read the whole Bible by Oct 2010. This time, I started with Micah and then skipped ahead to some of my favorites: Galatians, Ephesians and Philippians. Now I’m tackling Jeremiah.

If your thinking about reading the Bible, I just want to offer a word of encouragement. Also if you have a question about the Bible, I’d like to know to help you find the answer.

I am just giving up on this for now

1 time through 3 years ago

I’ve read the whole Bible 1 time. I read it all last year (except the first 40 or 50 or so Psalms, which I had read the year before that). Anyway, that was an NIV Bible, which I still have, but I got a New King James a month or so ago. The pew Bibles at my church are NKJV, and I needed one for teaching Bible studies.

Anybody else think how hardcore awesome it is, that no matter how many times you read a passage, you still get new things out of it each time?

Went to Church this Sunday, really good reading. My favorite stuff really. “What profiteth a man to gain the whole world and lose his own soul”. I think I like Christianity best when it gets eastern.

I've read it twice now 4 years ago

The first time was a living Bible.http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail//0842322477/qid=1124898179/sr=2-1/ref=pd_bbs_b_2_1/103-4333088-4727049?v=glance&s=books It was beautiful, but It was an easy read, and really, I feel like I missed out. The second time through, I used a King James, and that was both interesting and stimulating experience. The next time through, I’m using an Oxford King James with commentary and a concordance. I’ve tried this one before, but I got distracted and didn’t finish. I don’t even remember if I finished the Old Testament. Anyway, I am getting baptized this spring, after all this time-It’s probably a good time for me to try again.
