Guess who got another promotion?! ME!! That’s two in one year. I’m still in shock, I can’t fully believe it!
I am officialy the new Quality Assurance Coordinator. I have so much to learn. I also will have so much to teach my replacement, I will be their supervisor. I’ll be getting a shiny new laptop (first laptop ever), which apparently means I’ll be able to conveniently work at home. I’m salary now, which means I get to work more. I’m excited though.

Our quality assurance (QA) manager was let go a few months ago and I volunteered to help out where I could. There’s only so much I can help with because I don’t have the training. The calibration manager, that use to be the QA manager awhile back is being forced back into being the QA manager but he needs help. The Director talked to me today and said he wanted to make a new position for me, Quality Coordinator. He needs to clear everything with the COO and CEO first but I just might be getting another promotion this year. How exciting! I would definitely need QA training. The Director also wants me to interview people to fill my current position and then I would be that person’s boss. Even more exciting because I’ve never been anyone’s boss before.
I need to teach myself Access NOW!!!!

Wow are we busy! It’s a little overwhelming sometimes. I need to work overtime but then I’m worried if I work too much overtime my boss will regulate it again. I think he understands now though that I’m not taking advantage of it and I work my butt off but there’s just too much work and overtime is required…or his boss (which is my boss too) told him he can’t stop me from getting overtime.
Also, I might be getting even more overtime because another department needs help and I was asked if I wanted to help on overtime. I’ll gladly do it and not just for the money. I want our clients to be happy with the quality and timeliness of our reports.

Lunch meeting
Today we had our monthly company pizza lunch meeting. The COO/President gives us a summary of how we are doing and what they’ve been pursuing. We are doing really well! The best news is that a company wants us to help them with a commercial. The COO/President had told us a few months ago to send in any ideas we had for a commercial. I did and he thought it was good. Today, he announced that the creative team from that company will be coming to visit us on Friday and they also liked my idea. He said it in front of everyone, which was a little embarrassing but I also felt proud. I wonder if they’ll want to talk to me on Friday?!? How exciting!
I’m so glad I’ve successfully turned my attitude around about work. I’m more positive and excited about working there. I intend to keep it that way and I want to keep finding ways of getting positive recognition. My goal this year is to get nominated for one of the two yearly awards.

I had a really bad night last night. It was raining and the wind was blowing so hard my condo was making some loud clicking/banging noises and I didn’t get much sleep. On top of that, I really messed up my left big toe. About 1 1/2 years ago I had ingrown toenail surgery. It was the worst experience ever for me. I never want to go back. So every time I cut my toenails I think about that and then I get alittle carried away with cutting them. The other night I think I got out a very big hangnail then all the next day I think it got aggravated from the newly exposed skin rubbing on my nail…so then last night I messed with it some more and probably made it worse. In the morning not only was I really tired but my toe was swollen and hurting bad…so I emailed my boss and told him I might not be in until after lunch. He emailed back and said “hope you feel better”. At lunch I didn’t feel like putting a shoe on a making my toe even worse…so I emailed him again. This time his response wasn’t so great, “Not sure I ever used the hurt toe excuse…”. That freaked me out. I don’t want to get in trouble right after my promotion…so I sucked it up and went in wearing slippers. Of course everybody asked me what was wrong, which I was hoping to avoid. I hope he appreciates that I made the effort and went in for half a day.
