Aloranovas can sing "That's Entertainment".
I want to make myself a scarf and treat it as importantly as I do projects I make for others. I tend to think I’m not as important and procrastinate too much.
How I did it: I made a scarf for my sister, and then she moved to another country, and then I went to visit her. Guess I needed a little incentive to start working on it again. That was enough! It came out quite lovely! Suppose it should have after all that time. ;o) Now I'm excited to start something else that hopefully won't take so long.
Lessons & tips: Don't be afraid to mess up, just make sure you are using a yarn that you can see it on or have someone who can fix things for you. I used eyelash yarn, not recommended for a first time project!

I’m knitting a skirt in stockinette stitch, on very small needles. It’s taking forever!
I bought a TON of cotton yarn to knit dishcloths, much more than I needed because I am compulsive. I started knitting placemats and a table runner using the cotton yarn but haven’t worked on the project for months. I could really use those things…my goal is to finish the tablerunner by the end of February, 2008. You are my witnesses!
I have a few I could pick from, but I think I’ll start with the scarf I promised my sister for her birthday (and not her last birthday). No more worrying about absolutely perfect rows or worrying that I can’t finish it off. I can learn to finish it off and I made the scarf with feathery yarn so you can’t see if the rows are perfect!
It seems that time flys by while you are doing…...Nothing!
I promised to knit winter caps, scarves, and mittens for some
underprivilaged Native American kids near Mammoth Lakes. They are due sometime in November. Is it only me, or is a deadline staring you straight in the face the only thing that will get you focused enough to face the task at hand?

Is there a support group for people like me?
Some other time later perhaps…So, its on standby until I finish my number one goal! I need to focus!
I really need to finish the blanket before the baby arrives!!!

...man, i am so stinkin close to finshing this. the only problem is that i knit in the dark so it always looks like crap, and then i have to redo it. soo… i’m workin on it. and i’m close.
Almost exactly one year after I revived my long-time knitting project, my sweater is finally done. I’d forgotten it at my parents’ place, so it waited there for quite some time. Mom still can’t believe I pulled off that spiral-y pattern. :)
I’m knitting a scarf now. No fancy patterns, no adding and substracting, just knit-purl-knit-purl over and over again. It makes watching TV more interesting. :D
I manage to knit at least one line a night. I find it quieting to have a little time to myself right before going to bed. I can let my thoughts wander while my hands are busy clicking away (though slowly).
