How to improve my photography
How I did it: On 20th Jan I took up the ambitious goal of doing a Project 365 on flickr (upload a picture a day). I don't only want to upload a picture a day though, I want to improve my photography and editing skills using Photoshop.
I've been doing it under 2 months and I've surprised myself already with how I've improved. So this goal is totally done! Obviously I'm going to improve more but I'm already happy I've done this :)

With each shoot, I can see improvement in photo skills and post processing.

Ok, my first kid is on the way, and no doubt I will be eagerly snapping up embarrassing photos I can use to torture them on their 21st birthday. Only problem is, my photos in the past have been a mixture of chopped off heads, blurriness and downright boring pics. Admittedly, a lot of the photos I have taken have been when I am inebriated, but no excuse!
I am thinking that a short course is in order. Preferably a cheap one, so I can spend my hard earned on a camera rather than lessons. I’ll need to investigate, but there’s got to be something on the web right?
My african land snail ‘Winston’ is easier than my dogs and grandchildren when it comes to me faffing around with my camera settings.
I have a great DSLR Camera and a few good lenses. I need to remember to take it out with me every day and practice – thats the hard bit for me.
Recently we visited Cananda. I photographed the view from our hotel window. This place truly inspired me to take more pics.
DillmanSK thinking; do you realize how much you learn without know?
Since I was young, and had my first camera, I always took picture of, what I though was useless, different types of landmarks, buildings and just people altogether. Although, as I continue to grow up and go through life I want things I’ve been doing for years to improve as I improve as well. Photography being one of those things.

Photography has always been more of a hobby-that-I-know-little-about for me. This, I would like to change.
My first stop is to acquire a better camera. Something above a point-and-shoot, that much I know for sure. I’m going to keep exploring my options before I make an investment.
Best of luck to all of you with a similar goal!
oomellyoo the sky is the limit
I bought one…now I just have to figure out how to use it.

I also want to remember to take more photos, and improve my shots as well. The kids are impossible to photograph with a digital camera; perhaps I need a better quality one? I hardly ever seem to catch a grin – it’s gone by the time the camera processes the ‘click’. I also want to get better with photo editing software. At the moment I just fool around with free Picasa. I may look into a Photography course as an elective at university as well (after I get a better camera).
