How I did it: On 20th Jan I took up the ambitious goal of doing a Project 365 on flickr (upload a picture a day). I don't only want to upload a picture a day though, I want to improve my photography and editing skills using Photoshop.
I've been doing it under 2 months and I've surprised myself already with how I've improved. So this goal is totally done! Obviously I'm going to improve more but I'm already happy I've done this :)

Never blame your equipment for poor photos. When I bought a half decent DSLR (Olympus e-420), I half expected to churn out brilliant photos. Didn’t happen – of course. Every so often I have yearnings to upgrade my camera, lens etc. All you need to stop this vain addiction is to see all the amazing photos people are taking with equipment you would snuff.
It’s been raining for the last few days and uni work has been piling up. Photography will have to take a back seat for the moment. That said, I did take a few very nice pictures the other day. However, I’m a newbie at editing; another things to add to my list.
When I’m walking sometimes I stop and say ‘that’s beautiful’. When I have my camera with me I try to capture the moment but it always comes out differently. I want to capture the beauty that’s already there, that I see all the time.
DillmanSK thinking; do you realize how much you learn without know?
Since I was young, and had my first camera, I always took picture of, what I though was useless, different types of landmarks, buildings and just people altogether. Although, as I continue to grow up and go through life I want things I’ve been doing for years to improve as I improve as well. Photography being one of those things.
Photography has always been more of a hobby-that-I-know-little-about for me. This, I would like to change.
My first stop is to acquire a better camera. Something above a point-and-shoot, that much I know for sure. I’m going to keep exploring my options before I make an investment.
Best of luck to all of you with a similar goal!
oomellyoo the sky is the limit
I bought one…now I just have to figure out how to use it.

I also want to remember to take more photos, and improve my shots as well. The kids are impossible to photograph with a digital camera; perhaps I need a better quality one? I hardly ever seem to catch a grin – it’s gone by the time the camera processes the ‘click’. I also want to get better with photo editing software. At the moment I just fool around with free Picasa. I may look into a Photography course as an elective at university as well (after I get a better camera).
ian20x want to do something original
So I read the instruction book to my camera (I know, how unmanly), but I discovered my camera can do so much more than I realised. If only I’d know that a few weeks back when I went to Griffith Observatory to watch the sun rise over LA, how much nicer my photos would have been.
I really wanna work on this, especially right now since I seem to be in the middle of some creative bubble and I’m gonna make the most of it before it pops (please don’t let it pop, I’m having so much fun).
