I could hear Steve Martin’s voice as I read through this book. If you are a fan of Martin, I would recommend this memoir. Some of the things it tells about were his days working at Disneyland, his struggles, and triumphs in stand up comedy, television, and film. I especially liked the paragraphs he wrote about Johnny Carson in “The Road” chapter…

Similar to the other books Sonya Sones wrote, What My Girlfriend Doesn’t Know is also written in verse (poetry). I enjoyed the book and it was a very fast read. I would recommend this story if you like young adult literature.
I’m currently reading Born Standing Up by Steve Martin.
Started reading Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman about 3 weeks ago. Was really into the story, but then I stopped reading it at about the fifth chapter. Renewed it once and only read like a half page after that. Ended up just returning it…still would like to finish reading it though.
I’ve been wanting to read What My Girlfriend Doesn’t Know by Sonya Sones, ever since it was released. I’ll try and borrow it tomorrow or before this week is over. I’ve also been reading a lot of children’s books lately, but I won’t include them in this goal…
It took me longer to finish reading American Gods than I expected (it wasn’t a difficult read, but it was long). I did really enjoy this book though. I think it would have been fun to go on the road trip with Shadow. One of my favorite paragraphs is in chapter 13 on pages 307-308. It is about Sam talking about her beliefs to Shadow. Also, each chapter in the story has their own quote. My favorite quote is in chapter 14 (page 329).
This book wasn’t really a page turner, some parts were predictable, and it gave me nightmares. I kept imagining how this book would look like as a movie when I read through the story…and I am not anticipating its release.
The next book I plan to read is American Gods by Neil Gaiman.
