How I did it: I made a pact with a friend to go the following year. We started saving up and bought our tickets about 4 months in advance. It helped making a pact with a friend. It motivates you to save and work towards your goal. You don't want to let your friend down, and they don't want to let you down. Read how I did it…
How I did it: My school provided a travel course trip to Japan for upper-class credit. I was a freshman and I went. I don't know why I need a 150 character minimum. What I just said was pretty self explanatory. Read how I did it…

How I did it: I'd been saving money for a very long time! I went through the GenkiJacs program, which I loved. There I was taught Japanese and I took a culture class. That consisted of a sweet making class, caligraphy, shrine and temple viewing, potery making.. the Japanese will stare at you, especially if you're tall. I also went to the arcades, saw Transformers 2 with Japanese subtitles, went to the beach (fabulous, starfish by the handfull) and much… Read how I did it…

.. and about everything else. Being vegan, it would be a slight challenge to go there, but I guess if I mastered the kanji/romonji characters and the language, It would be easier for me. I really want to do this.

I decided to go to Tokyo to use the ‘exposure technique’ to rid myself of several anxiety issues I was struggling with. I’ve had a lot of anxiety problems my whole life and the only way that works these days is to jump in head first. Although I was sick with nerves and it took a lot of mental work, I did it! The month leading up to my trip was the hardest, never again will I worry so much before I travel! It isn’t worth it, I got over there and had a great time.
Japan is a fabulous country to visit. I stayed in Tokyo and it blew my mind, I also visited Kyoto and although I didn’t like it as much – I had a blast riding around the entire place on a bicycle.

I’ve always wanted to go to Japan, ever since grade 5 when we learned about Japan and Peru at school. I’d like to see Tokyo and Kyoto and Shikoku.
I had a contract to go there and teach English but changed my mind and went to Germany instead. We think that we’ll go next spring—and see the cherry blossoms…
Vintageish is new to 43 things!!! =)
I love the Japanese culture and it’s such a beautiful country filled with hundreds of years of interesting history. I want to visit Japan before i turn 25.

I have a great respect for the Japanese. A lot of negative things can be said about the Japanese as far as their possible sexism and placement of custom above personal growth, but their often rigid nature is what made them advance in such a concentrated location as a people. We must stop to pay respect to their advancement as a people, their connection to the most primitive of ancestors, their ability to show strength in the most strained conditions, and their ability to make themselves a threat to anyone they choose to point their horns to. Though much maybe lost in their attempt and success in keeping up with the modern world, nothing is ever forgotten. Also, the Bushido is possibly the greatest tome of what is should mean to be a man. I am a Taoist in nature (close in nature of the way of the samurai) and a communist in belief. I feel the Japanese best show this in image as far as the old ways go. I wonder if my life would have been easier if I were born Japanese.
I have a promising opportunity to tag along on a trip to Japan in December. Very exciting stuff.
