How I did it: I made an appointment for the kids' nap time, then set off to the salon. It took about 2.5 hours, and 3 shades of red, in addition to my own natural shade, but I feel so much better. Read how I did it… 4 years ago

Made an appointment for Tuesday, Oct. 7 at noon. Hubby’s not to thrilled to be left with the baby and toddler, but he’ll live! I think I’m going to brighten my natural red and get some fall appropriate highllights! SOOO EXCITED!!! 4 years ago

It’s already paid for, I just need to go sometime when hubby’s watching the kids. I need to do it in the next 2 weeks, I’ve decided. 4 years ago

I loved knowing that every strand was being completely covered and I would not have to worry about the color being uneven or brassy. 5 years ago

Honestly the results aren’t much more than I could have gotten at home. BUT it was good knowing someone else was doing it. Basically it was worth it to me knowing that it wouldn’t be patchy or splotchy. 5 years ago

It came out really nice, I’m happy with it. I love the highlights I got, they blend really well and next time I get my hair colored, I’m going with that shade for my base color. The whole thing including flat ironing only ran me $51, because I went to a student salon. The people there really know what they’re doing though, don’t be fooled. If there is a student salon in your area, I highly recommend checking them out! 6 years ago

I made an appointment at the salon to get my hair colored this Friday. I’m really excited, I knew I didn’t want to go into the spring with the same old dull hair color. I am thinking of a rich chocolate. I’ll probably go to the bookstore and snag a magazine with a HQ photo of the color I want, and show that to the stylist. Even if it comes out weird, I know I will still have a boost of confidence from it. 6 years ago

Step one is to price it. For my length of hair it would cost in the 50’s, and for highlights too it’d be in the 60’s. And that’s not including the styling afterward. Not bad I guess, but I’ll have to shop around some more. 6 years ago
