kimnext is getting ready for the struggle
I’ve been working on a small YA novel titled “Death of the Coffee Saints” since I was 14. Now I’m 20, and instead of having a proper manuscript, I have an odd collage made of fictional stories detailing my own teenage years. The thing feels too personal to publish, or even show my best friend, so what I can do now is to set the “Coffee Saints” aside and work on something else.
For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted to write. I have loads of poetry that I’ve written and that I’ve done at Spoken Word nights, people seem to love my work. I’ve got loads of story ideas filed away in my computer and file cabinets, so why can’t I seem to get this goal off the ground? What fear is holding me back from doing the one thing that would bring me the greatest joy? Things I need to look at over the next few days.
