So I’m still doing it. Getting up at the same time each day. This weekend was much better than the last – I had way more energy, and actually felt quite good! I’ve also started to do some yoga in the mornings when I get up which i think definitely helps with the energy. However last night was another bad night and woke up feeling ratty and horrible today, so no yoga which means no extra boost of energy. So I guess it’s still a work in progress! I wonder will I always have those bad nights or will they go away if I stick to this? I’m going to keep making entries until Day 21, because I reckon by then it will be habit and not an experiment and i’ll be able to tell whether it’s worth it or not!

bad night. had one of those headaches that DON’T go away when you sleep, so i kept waking up in pain, with no pain meds in the house. still managed to get up at the same time as the day before, but now have pain meds and i’m not going anywhere till it goes away. sticking to my goal but it’s hard!

The days are short enough as it is. No sense in sleeping life away!

not such a good night’s sleep last night. tossed and turned, went to the loo about 4 times, woke up feeling not-so-hot. I’m not really sure why – i went to bed about half an hour later than the last few nights – so maybe that was it?
anyways, I got up at the same time again this morning despite the not good night, so feeling a little tired today. I’m gonna have a 30 min power nap (doc prescribed) to make up for it, hopefully i’ll feel better after that!
whatever happens, i don’t want to break this cycle – i think it’s key to being able to do all the other things on my list!

so last night I was pretty sleepy by bedtime, so i knew i hadn’t completely caught up on the sleep debt. went to bed at a normal time, fell asleep quickly, and woke up this morning before my alarm feeling relatively normal! i think it’s beginning to work! I just need to keep at it now – if i slip i’ll have to start all over again

this is not something i’d just like to achieve, I don’t have a choice. I have a sleep disorder, and my sleep specialist has prescribed medication for it, but also a new regime, where I need to get up every morning at the same time, weekends included! no more sleeping in for me, which is hard because sleeping late has always been my crutch for not sleeping properly at night time. so now i have to get up early no matter what time i went to bed the night before, but i can have a 30 minute nap if i’m feeling bad. just did it for the first time this weekend – it was hell! i spent most of the weekend hanging out for sunday night, feeling like a zombie. but i had a long, largely uninterrupted sleep last night so feeling a bit more normal today.

I have got to start getting out of bed soon after my alarm goes off. This morning I turned off my stereo in my sleep. I just want to walk my dog in the early morning and that means getting out of bed before 6am.

I finally got up early today, at 7:30 at a Sunday. I got a little trick, just leaving the curtains open….that way your body will start waking you when the first sun in rising. And you are really awake than, since the sun starts coming up around 5am…so your body is adjusting slowly…better than an annoying alarm clock…

My goal is to wake up at 8:30 a.m. at the latest on weekdays. Saturday and Sunday can be sleep in days(but no later then 10:00 a.m. on those days).
I want to do this everyday for about 21 days in order for it to become a habit.

I probably should start by getting to bed earlier… I put my alarm clock just 5 minutes earlier everyday….Now I have to puss myself to also really get out of bed when it rings…
