reorganize my closet

this will the be one of the few things on my list when summer begins.

mostly cause that closet is a FREAKING MESS! How does a closet get so messy?????

I just remove all the bags, boxes , and clutter to make my closet look bigger. The less clutter the bigger the space seems. Then I make 2 piles. Keep and Throw away. When I’m all organized I color-code my clothes and hand them all up. I then sweep and while I’m doing all this I listen to some relaxing toons.

Did this last weekend. Took everything out of the closet and went through all my shoes and clothes. Got rid of a bag of clothes and box full of shoes. Went through the boxes that were sitting on the floor in there just taking up space and put a bunch of stuff where it should be. Found $15 dollars in my jewelry box. Hell, found my jewelry box!
Ma says I still need to throw away that box of letters in there but I just can’t get myself to do it! Half of those letters, I do believe are already gone. Seems to me there were two boxes of them at one time. Might of lost those when the house burned down. Not sure where they went to. They may be in the trailer house out back too.
I can’t throw them away cause they represent six years of my life. And even though those six years are done and over with, there are letters from me to him telling of my days and nights, describing what was going on in my life at that time. That is the reason I can’t bring myself to get rid of them, not because there are letters from him to me in there. it’s my letters to him that I don’t want to get rid of. Doesn’t matter that I can’t even bring myself to read the damned things. They stayed once again.
Hung up all my travel bags and put the shoes I didnt’ get rid of into the show bag hanging over the bathroom door. (There’s a door into the bathroom from my closet.) Place looks a lot better and things are certainly easier to find!
Yep, this was a good goal accomplished!

I could live in my closet, it is that big, if all that crap wasn’t sitting around taking up space!

I actually did this yesterday, totally forgot I had put it on this list. Got all the old boxes and tools out of it, got my clothes in some kind of order, cleaned off the shelves.

It looks much better!

Yay. Um, for me.

To fully reorganize my closet, I need to:

1. Pull out the boxes and crates of spring shoes and clothes. Rummage through. Pull out the ones that went out of style as soon as Labor Day passed. They won’t actually be worn EVER AGAIN.

2. Take out all of the winter clothes. And I mean all. Rummage through. Pull out the ones for donation and box up the rest for storage. Of course, save a few favorite cozy items for those cooler nights.

3. Get rid of all my friggin purses. People always give me purses as gifts… and I really just like the one I have.

4. Remove those other gifts I received and never used over the past few months (i.e. plug-in, light-up, plastic gingerbread house), and figure out which nonprofit would actually want to take it from me.

5. DUST and SWEEP. These two things are way overdue.

Can’t wait till this goal is done.

with a little help from my mom, but i went through all the boxes in there, and added some shelves for organization.. now i think i have somewhere to toss my clothes that isnt on the floor.. less to hang too.
